Honestly you seem to have far more experience with it than I do. I've had ridiculous experiences myself, like literally being called a transphobe because I made a joke about cis people putting their pronoun in their Twitter profile and other dumb shit. But I know that it's the same as it is with Islam or with pretty much anything - the second you start believing the loud minority of a movement are the entire movement, you become unable to look at it properly. the examples I've had are only a few people out of a GREAT many who care about this shit.
