Even with the help of computers they had to sacrifice a bunch of shots to get that episode done in time

remember when we used our creativity to pretend Ls were guns and people waving their arms and/or shaking meant they were talking?

lets say you wanted to animate the craziness of a fly's perspective as it flies through a rain storm, dodging raindrops. the biggest obstacle would be that thousands of raindrops falling is very complex.

modern animation would probably say well throw a ton of computer power at it and do a rainfall simulation and zoom in to bug size and work from there

cel animation would be forced to find another way and do it creatively, with some impressionistic/dreamlike visuals

oh and in the modern version they would have render farms spend 6853 hours ensuring every single raindrop has a hyperreal globule distortion effect that just distracts from what is trying to be portrayed. thats so icky to me how they try to mix stuff liek that in with everything else. like the cgi charlie brown movie where the PEANUTS have these million dollar photographic hair strands with independent physics

Aha, he co-wrote the original British The Office, and has wrote/done a lot of stuff with Ricky Gervais. Personally i like self-deprecating humour, but i find him a bit too much in that regard.

one new thing about the podcast is that it now features really obvious and awkward cuts in which a presumably offensive chunk of material has been removed

i was really into TF2 trading back in the day. hats and particle effects sound really stupid, but trading textures and reskins that were previously free on FPSBANANA is just laughable. i don't know what they were thinking.

I stopped playing tf2 because all the stupid weapons and hats ruined the flow and look of the game, one of the design points was easily recognizable character silhouettes but now everyone has flashy confusing shit.going on and I can't tell wtf is happening.
