the first avatar movie came out in like, 2009, right? one if its big selling points was the CGI. nowadays, it still looks impressive, but its nothing special. if that's their main selling point then they're fucked.

agreed, remember all those fucking people who got depressed when they realized that the fake planet wasn't real? what ever happend to that shit? that movie was huge for a like a year then it just totally sank from public consciousness like a rock.
i wonder why? i think maybe part of it is that it was such a theater-specific experience. nobody's gonna want to watch that movie on their computer monitor. they want to watch it in 3d on the imax screen.
i think it also doesn't help that the movie is 73 hours long. it's not something you just pop on to ease a hangover on sunday, it's like a whole fucking day down the drain if you want to watch that blue alien shit
