actually, i think that's a good point.

usually when i'm talking to people IRL i make a point of saying 'jewish people' 'black people' 'white people,' etc., because it sounds sort of gentler and nicer, because you're acknowledging that they're still ultimately people at the end of the day. i don't think there's anything wrong with saying 'whites' 'blacks' 'jews' and anything else, but i get the reason why it sounds harsh, so i usually aim to be more collegial

but on the internet, where everyone aims for total brevity when the opportunity comes, i think it's acceptable to shorten these terms

Btw, just checked out of curiousity, but my posting history is WAY more diverse.

My grandfather has gotten to the point where he venomously spits out "the Mexicans" whenever he talks about the neighbors on the corner so I do agree with your point. He does use the term colored to describe black people which I do find amusing just due to how stuck in time it is.

Would you consider "black people" less awkward than "the blacks"??

my thing is, though, no one gives a shit when we do this with 'the asians' or 'the christians'

in fact, i dont even remember the last time i heard someone say 'christian people' or 'asian people'

with 'jews' 'whites' 'blacks' it sounds harsher i think because those words are all monosyllabic, or something

i think we can probably agree that neither of us ACTUALLY just posts complaints and criticism.

actually to be completely honest one of the reasons i don't start discussions is because i assume they'll either be ignored or mocked just because i'm the one starting it

Yeah, that's what I'd say.

Well when the problem is either you or everyone else, it's usually the former. Try posting something that isn't worthy of being ignored or mocked.

Could you just give me a quick description of what you thought I was saying when I made the post this is a response to?

first half is right but it's more of the typical teenage bully victim lack of self-esteem hangup issues than what you think. funnily enough, it's only your ilk who consistently claim that everyone else here hates me.

E3 is streaming right now. It's currently EA streaming it's shitty sports games, but they showed off Titanfall 2 and ME Andromeda. I'm waiting for Nintendo's stream so they can apologize for Federation Force and show a proper Metroid game. Here's the stream.

Nintendo's is the only one I'll watch for Zelda. It's been way too long for me to be excited right now but this could change that!

edit: and Last Guardian release date maybe

Battlefield 1 looks okay. Although there is some stupid shit like revive syringes, that doesn't make any sense.
