You say multiculturalism is harming society... and that Jews have, for whatever reasons, a vested interest in maintaining that multiculturalism.... Forgive me for raising an eyebrow.

actually he said he read a book that suggests that, not that he agrees with it.

edit: my bad, he says it is flawed, but i guess still correct

So tempted to ask what this crew thinks of the whole Brock Turner deal just while we're seeing how far down this rabbit hole of awful bullshit leads

I sure miss the days when every single political discussion on 3dmm.com was unanimous agreement with my views and/or everyone piling onto Adrian Pikios

boy that was great. really stimulating stuff.

yeah but now it's an echo chamber in the opposite direction. you're the only one who's going to bother properly debating people because it's a huge goddamn waste of time. you've used that argument before and it's an extremely poor one! how many minds have you changed with your essays here? zero?

like honestly the idea that someone can witness the degradation of the board in recent months and think "you guys just don't like having your views challenged!".....you don't really believe that do you?

discussion isn't just about convincing people, its about learning your own views too. personally i appreciate most of phil's posts because he's made me examine my own thoughts/views closer, and they've lead to counterpoints by other people that were interesting to me

That's a really confusing comment coming from someone who's said he spends most of his time with his friends talking about politics. I don't post in those threads in some attempt to evangelize and change people's minds. It would be great if something I posted convinced Chris Lohr not to vote for Donald Trump, but I don't really care about that - I post in those threads because I enjoy discussing and debating politics. I like to read the views of people who disagree with me and their reasoning why, and offer up my own. That's how you develop a deeper understanding of things. Even when it's views that I find repulsive, it's interesting to learn about how people arrive there, and articulating my own reasons for disagreeing gives me a firmer grasp of why I believe the things that I believe. And every once in a while I do change my mind on something!

Like I definitely get that a lot of people have no interest in that kind of discussion, think it's all a waste of time, and are here for other reasons. But if you're in that category, why do you care at all what goes on in those threads? Why do the political opinions of other 3dmmers make any difference to you whatsoever, let alone to the point of making you want to post here less?

And it's not an echo chamber. There's a reason the Trump thread is already the longest thread since 2004 - there's a lot of actual discussion and back-and-forth with people on both sides talking about their reasoning. Andres, Shaun, Jesterfoot, and even you and Sprow have weighed in plenty on "my side." (Obviously Lohr, etc have posted a lot more, but a huge proportion of that is just links and stuff.) And then in the Bernie thread, people were split up along different lines, and we still had plenty of good discussion. That is not something we've traditionally had here! It's a good thing! Why would someone who likes talking about politics be bothered by this??

Because the way the conversation has changed in the past few months has become depressing and shit. Nobody wants to argue anymore, except for you, because they'll just get jumped on by the Lohr/Izak/Christo/whoever mad train. Like look at what you're actually arguing about in the Trump thread right now. that strikes you as legitimate, stimulating political discussion? no it's just a crazy guy shouting conspiracy. there's absolutely no sense of actual debate in those threads whatsoever. It's just you, and sometimes Andres, maaaaaaybe Jesterfoot once in a blue moon. I'm glad you find it fun but I'm sure you've noticed other members dropping like flies, and there are reasons for that. Not just "man people on 3dmm sure don't like having their views challenged!"

Plus political discussion dominates this website these ways. If it's not diatribes on how people are being mean to Donald Trump it's page-long discussions on "the Jews" or something, and I don't really enjoy reading any of it!

Like that's what it comes down to really. I just don't enjoy reading anyone's posts anymore. I don't think it's worth getting into any debate or discussion because it's a gigantic waste of time to argue with these people in particular. And these people's attitudes affect the rest of their posting too....do I really want to spend time hearing about how much christo loves manly man things, or skimming over Izak's pretentious, obnoxious paragraphs even when he's talking about something like comics? As I said before, were it not hard-wired into my brain to check this place when bored I likely wouldn't still be here.

I actually agree with brown completely, except Christo's man's man posts are the best part of this board anymore

well most of the political talk will be over in November, so there's light at the end of the tunnel for those of you who are annoyed by it. it dominating the board is really mostly a side effect of it dominating the news right now. dunno what to tell you if you just don't like the people here any more though.

The narrative of this site is driven by those with the most free time. Right now that happens to be izakk and lotr. I like both of them but I'm pretty sick of reading their gay ass political views. Like I die a little every time I read about the perils of multiculturalism for the 100000th time. I'm not surprised tho. Basically every dark corner of the Internet defaults to racist, autistic, virginity cesspool. 3dmm.com is no exception

yeah to clarify I liked Lohr fine before he started this lunatic training course. and I grew to appreciate Izak's presence before other fools started following his lead.

It's a miracle because the game came out in 1995. In 2016 who else do you expect to be here except a bunch of weirdos (yes, yourself included)?
