ehh, to put it in a single word, multiculturalism

there was a book about it by this UCLB professor, kevin macdonald, called Culture of Critique

he argued that the jews have historically promoted multiculturalism because in pluralistic societies, the threat of anti-semitism decreases. so it's basically a solid self-preservation strategy

his thesis is flawed, but i read the book back in my teens. it's interesting. he makes a solid historical case for jewish activity in the 20th century, but i don't think that he's correct to see the tendency as rooted in genetic instinct

you asked what the jews promote politically, and i answered the question. if you really like multiculturalism, you should probably be very pro-jewish politics. i'm anti-multiculturalism and i think jews have had a net negative effect on american politics

i didn't say that it was bad, because your initial question wasn't about multiculturalism. you were implying that my answer carried an intrinsic value judgment, which it did not

biggest reason is because i think it hurts social capital. some solid research (robert putnam, bowling alone) indicates that in diverse societies, people become less civically engaged, less willing to be charitable, and more mistrustful of people (including people of their own ethnicity). essentially, they turtle inward and feel no motivation to be 'out and about,' and that's a very important thing to help build up social cohesion. that's why socialism has worked well in more monocultural and high-trust places like scandinavia: people feel better about giving money to the gov't to redistribute to the needy... the action of paying taxes essentially formalizes a real willingness to be charitable that would exist even if those taxes weren't enforced

my own guess is that people are naturally, instinctively tribalistic, and ethnicity/religion is a useful way for people to stratify themselves into social groups. so if you add too much racial/linguistic/religious diversity, then you get all these social problems that weaken the fabric of the state. all of the attempts to 'educate' people into being more tolerant will fail, and fail hard. the whole donald trump thing is just the beginning

Haha Are you sure it's nothing to do with 'carrying intrinsic value judgments' of your own?? It's just those socioeconomic reasons? Even though you believe it's human nature to be tribalistic (i.e., carry lots of intrinsic value judgments)?

You say multiculturalism is harming society... and that Jews have, for whatever reasons, a vested interest in maintaining that multiculturalism.... Forgive me for raising an eyebrow.
