anyone that says win 8.1 is trash and win 10 is perfection doesn't understand computers. ive been on 8.1 for years. incredibly stable, perfect layout with Classic Shell, boots in like 20 seconds (i only reboot every few days though), what more could i ask for?

most of the nonsense reviews are from the type of people that wonder why their PC slows down after a few years, and they just needed to format their system anyway, so Win 10 seems like a huge improvement while in reality its the format that fixed their shit.

edit: of course you can have problems with any OS if your stuff is set up badly, that's the point - its not the fault of the OS

All I remember distinctly about windows 8.1 is that pressing the "start" button turned my computer into an ugly tablet full of apps that I never used.

I always thought OS mods were cool, but never really looked into it. Is there anything cool to add to Windows 10?

i dunno, i just use classic shell cause i like everything about the old Windows with no extra stuff. windows 10 looks fine by default but i haven't used it.

i still enable the old quick launch menu for lots of small icons next to the start menu, looks like you can do that on 10:
