"racially charged" is a pretty funny term when you think about it. it's as if race is like a power source, and when you say something, you can power up the words beforehand by connecting it to race, like with a source converter that turns into a three-prong edison jack. and then, once it's fully charged, you can say the words and they're charged up with race, and thus more offensive and powerful

actually, one of the advantages of a movie liek this with such an obvious gimmick is that, if anything, they'd downplay the feminist aspects of it and just try to make a normal comedy movie but with women

if i'm right, that could be its saving grace

but then again........... there have been other gimmicky things like this in the world of comics, like all-female crossovers and shit, and the feminism has been completely over-the-top and obnoxious. i'm talking scenes where, like, a little boy is like "i dont want to play with her! she throws like a girl!" talking about his sister or something, and then the superheroine shows up and does something heroic, and then the boy is like "wow! i want to throw like a girl now!" just goofy bullshit like that

but hollywood doesn't market to such a niche audience, so i doubt there'd be any stupid "i am woman, hear me roar!" moments

at any rate, my prediction is that the movie bombs badly. it will give salon.com plenty of fodder for outrage-based articles about how sexist america still is for the next few months. and they say that fanboys whine!
