But honestly, I don't think that democracy doesn't do well in those cultures that is heavily based around tradition, faith and family. Many of the people in these countries are sadly very uneducated and will therefor live, especially because of their primitive living conditions, not for hunger for technological advancement and knowledge but rather by their own ideologies by which obviously the foreign, giant model of the capitalist free market seems like the perfect target, since it's pretty much the opposite of what their culture is about.

There is no unified, simple approach to converting a country to a working, thriving democracy... cultures are very complex organisms. Over a long period time you could probably find a way to shape the culture and the people towards a more intellectual society with the thirst for democracy and science but no one's doing it as far as I am aware. Even then, our culture isn't much better in many regards and before we try to get any of those people in the middle east to change I'd think we have to fix ourselves

I find it humorous that everyone doesn't talk about how Turkey is a horrible and fucked-up country

the best argument *for* democracy is the teutonic blonde goddess pop musicians, like (young) britney spears and taylor swift

but honestly, even now, taylor swift has to mouth all these really goofy 'we girls are oppressed' platitudes while she surrounds herself with leggy supermodels

kind of a boner-killer until you turn down the volume

I find it very goofy when people such as Eukos who live in places such as Germany make statements regarding the travesty of democracy in America

Germany's a'ight unless you're Izak and his ilk. Cost of living and rent and stuff is cool. You just have to avoid the roving gangs of foreign rapists or whatever

kinda similar then to Kansas, where the cost of living is wonderfully inexpensive and you just have to avoid the roving gangs of over-privileged cops

that's how we americans see the germans anyway

the whole nazi thing is water under the bridge

Despite the whole third reich thing being a few generations ago, most people - including me - still feel the emotional insecurity, no pride in being German, and patriotism is a suppressed emotion.

I mean, I'm very much against the idea of patriotism, but even if I did like the idea I don't think I could feel happy for what this country has done simply because of the association it still holds to this very day.
Many, many people feel this way. There are many songs about it, too.

Was walking past a huge chunk of the wall a few days ago after I watched Deadpool and Zootopia. Forgot how tall the wall was.

i feel where youre coming from eukos

but to me, speaking as an american who reads many books and has few (normal) friends, i respect germany because i love goethe, morike, nietzsche, thomas mann, wagner, beethoven, mozart, schubert, schumann, hugo wolf, jakob boehme, wolfram von eschenbach, gottfried von strassburg, walther von der vogelweide, hartmann von aue, and others

so compared to all of that, hitler seems like a very insignificant little blip on the map to me

I agree with you on this.

I feel that humanity in this era still gives his memory far too much popularity.
