I played the shit out of Modern Guilt, that's probably been my favourite release this year. TV On The Radio was also pretty decent, as was Sigur Ros.
Oh, and new Opeth was probably their best record in 10 years.

Apparantly I'm out of the loop, I haven't got round to hearing the new Portishead yet.

What do you all think about that you have to only put in the last part of a youtube link into a tag. I think it's pretty fucking annoying.

Not too much has jumped out at me this year.

Connor Oberst's solo thing was good.
Confidence Man by Matt Pryor was solid (former Get Up Kids)

Most badass song of the year?

Yeeeeah

I've never been much of a Satyricon fan, one of my friends is and he did show me one or two tracks from the album, I guess it was ok.

Well, I think it's a great album and I havent really bought many new albums this year, really just the ones I mentioned above and the new Trivium album. Obviously Black Ice aint as great as their older, more classic material but it's still good. My favourite album by AC/DC in general is probably Let There Be Rock. The thing that made me happy about Black Ice is that they didn't try anything new like Axl did for Chinese Democracy, they stuck to their original roots and I love it. Obviously it's all down to my opinion so if you disagree, fairdos!

I was sorta the same around the time they released Iowa, their second album. Around that time I saw it as just noise, when they released Volume 3, I really started to enjoy them. All Hope Is Gone is probably my personal favourite Slipknot album, followed by their self titled first one. Though once you have got into Slipknot, the next step I suggest you take is to see them live, it's without a doubt a great experience. I saw them in London nearly two weeks ago for the first time and it was absolutely insane!

The only Opeth song I really listened to was To Bid You Farewell, my god that is a wicked song, kinda spinout in my opinion.

I don't download much music aside from the stuff I occasionally grab from McZaa/Aene/etc, but I did especially enjoy:

Cut Copy - In Ghost Colors
Frank Turner - Love, Ire and Song
DeVotchKa - A Mad & Faithful Telling
Rivers Cuomo - Alone II

I can't think of what else.

Yeah. And as a consequence they're completely and utterly irrelevant.

The problem with putting ACDC is that ACDC is a really irrelevant band that has been releasing more or less the same album for decades. Why is that a problem? It's a problem in that putting an ACDC album there doesn't tell anyone anything, other than the fact that you enjoy ACDC. This applies to not only ACDC, but basically to any band or artist that has been stuck in a rut for a series of albums. Putting Ryan Adams on a top 10 list at this point just means "I will put anything Ryan Adams releases", not that the album is actually worth a listen.
