So he definitely has friends here, or at least people who are friendly to him, and just because you're not one of them doesn't make him "useless". I'm sorry if that reasoning isn't good enough for you, but it is for me.

It isn't really good enough for me no but I can concede that it's certainly an actual valid argument. I do feel that far far more people would prefer he not be here than enjoy his presence, though. And I don't think his posts have anything to do with what he thinks we'll like. I'm not quite sure where that conclusion comes from.

We had a poll a few years ago, and it was a statistical tie, so I am pretty confident that "far far more" does not in any way coincide with reality. Perhaps you should think again.

I don't believe the results would be the same if the same poll was made now.

personally i like clinton being around. he has indirectly made me laugh lots of times. if there was a ton of activity on 3dmm then maybe i'd feel less this way, but for how everything is, i think clinton contributes to this site in his own way. it was bad at one point when he was taking EVERY thread off topic. but with how its been lately, i've been fine with him

That is what he's been doing recently though. And it's exactly what he'll do again in six months.

yeah I like Clinton being around too and would be really bummed if he was permabanned/left. the hilarious things he posts/creates more than make up for the terrible inconvenience of having to scroll past some one-line posts about Leonard Cohen. I don't know why you're so confident that you speak for the community here Bown. or why you think it's such a big deal.

and let's not forget that by the "more people want him gone than want him here" standard, you would have been gone over a decade ago

Confidence largely comes from, you know, talking to many other members who feel the same way.

well the 3dmm facebook chat / UK meetup group almost unanimously voted to ban Clinton in that poll (all except Trooper), but almost everyone who voted to keep him is still around too. so it seems like the people you talk to most aren't too representative on this issue for whatever reason.

I meant perma-ban, obviously. Temp bans are how I warn him now. I don't see a malicious individual here. I'm still trying to work with him.

"Goat, I want you to shield me from the autistic people, so that I don't have to form such demeaning and mocking opinions of them!"

Who are you addressing that to? Because neither of the people you quoted actually made that point.

Second, to actually answer your question, no they are not equal. Clinton is trying to make us laugh, especially in these later years. I guarantee you he thinks this goatse routine is the funniest thing ever. He has even said so much in his posts. That is why he keeps doing it.

They aren't laughing at his autism. Fuck you.

The amusement comes from his obsessions which come from his autism. So yes, they actually are. But gj losing your temper over something you're completely wrong about, mr above it all 3dmm admin.

So you literally think what, half the active membership of the forum are just horrible people who hate the mentally handicapped? What are you even doing still running this joint?

I think he's annoying, I don't find his posts funny.

I voted to let him stay in 2012 but today id rather have him banned.

Y'know, in his latest spree of shit posts I did actually think, "Ok, maybe it's time," like he's an old dog who's ready to be put down. But Goat explained his system, and it makes me really glad he's admin. I don't have anything to add to the argument, but I support Goat/Sprow/Izak in here. I didn't vote back then, but looks like the poll's still open, so now I vote let him stay.

Also, Bown is probably going to have an autistic child in the future as some sort of karmic irony. Sorry when your child "never gets the message," but you won't be able to just exile him.

clinton is constantly trying to be funny. yes, his autism causes the posts to have a strange vibe that enhances the humor in some cases, and completely kills it in others, but that's just how it is. he knows he is different and he's seemed happy about any instance of us taking notice of him and his ways. when i made the video making fun of both myself and him (samurai lohr), he loved it. i think a lot of the time clinton just wants to be noticed... look at all his campaigns, his youtube comments, etc. so if we enjoy him for his strange humor (yes, it is different because of his autism), and he enjoys being here for this same reason, then i dunno that that could be called discriminatory.

Sorry but I just don't buy it. Maybe I'm being Izak-esque but from the other side, but it just doesn't seem like a fair exchange to me at all. Someone even admitted he has no idea when people are laughing with him or laughing at him, but people are pretty much never laughing with him, so how it is not just kinda mean and unfair?

He must be getting something out of if he keeps coming back. You should understand that.

In Clinton's defense, the idea of singer-songwriter and former member of The Velvet Underground Lou Reed being obsessed with goatse is, conceptually, really fucking funny.

Lou Reed? I'm pretty sure he only mentioned Leonard Cohen.

Which, by the way, annoys the shit out of me and I don't find it funny. I actually enjoy Leonard Cohen's music, I don't need to create subconcious associations with Goatse that'll pop up when I'm trying to enjoy his records. Larry Craig I had no problem with because I didn't give a fuck about him one way or another, but this is going too far.

Keep this piece of shit banned. Thanks

make a poll in mczaa, for real. i know it almost definitely won't lead to anything but i'm at least interested to see if my assertion holds up, and goat'll be less likely to just close it and not let people have their say then he is anywhere else

I'll admit I found it funny the first few times (although not enough to change my mind on all this) but it stopped being funny incredibly quickly and it's been months now

He's getting, if we speak metaphorically, a canvas to scrawl on. That's it.

Oh shit I was way off.

Also, I feel it necessary to mention that Clinton has already been banned to the testing forum, ostensibly the forum with the least restrictions on posting. His impact on this site is so small.
