as a non-smoker i do like the smoking ban since having the smoke everywhere was annoying. but it also is really annoying in its own way. i hate how now there are regular BREAKS in being at the bar. so many people smoke and it ends up in like 6 people agreeing to go outside to smoke at once, so then others go out and join them cause otherwise its splitting up the group, and now like half the damn bar is outside, even in bad weather. and this repeats like every freaking 40 minutes. its the worst. i honestly think i would prefer smoking be legal at bars, but banned everywhere else.


edit: seriously how about making it legal for bars to allow smoking as long as they have a certain amount of air flow or something? this sounds ridiculous but the price of installing a system for enough air flow might be low enough that bars think it ups the profit since people aren't taking as many breaks from drinking. yeah something like this would never work... that would be cool though

Canada had smoking specific rooms, so companies spent a shit ton of money revamping their establishments and then a few years later, government banned smoking in restaurants, making those closed smoking rooms useless and just weird to sit in.

Kinda felt bad for the BUSINESS OWNERS/JOB CREATORS, but whatever, you enabled people to advance their ability to get cancer, fuck you.

As a smoker I hated "smoking rooms." I don't enjoy the smell of cigarettes in enclosed spaces the way I enjoy it outside. Being in a room like that made me want to quit.
