everyone hates the anti-vax people

they strike me as totally wrong about vaccines, but i dont really see anything wrong with them.

the ability to enforce vaccines sets a precedent leading toward the ability to enforce medication prescriptions and things

i'm not really sure i trust THIS government to make the correct health decisions and enforce them regarding any pharmaceuticals or medications

so based on the idea of slippery slope and needing to draw a line somewhere, i think i have no problems with the anti-vaxers.

if you can force people to start doing one thing, people can warm up to the enforcement of other things

that's not true at all.

if vaccines were enforced it would be for a specific reason. the specific reason would be that they are meant to combat infectious diseases and that you need to have everyone vaccinated to properly eliminate the disease. there would be a "common good above individual rights" aspect there and it would be pretty justifiable scientifically.

that's not really the case with medication prescriptions and a bunch of other things that just affect you as an individual. you would have to make a completely different argument for that.



i mean this is like saying that making drunk driving illegal is a slippery slope that ends in the government mandating 2 hours of daily exercise.
