Hey Bown, I started watching Father Ted, about a season and a half in, and I love it. I love how the world has its own sort of logic, like what happens is sort of determined by an unseen character, a petty spiteful catholic god who bullies these guys for sinning and not giving him respect.

I like it a fair bit but there are some parts I find ridiculously unfunny that everyone seems to think are hilarious - like in the Christmas special where (spoiled for Comp) HA HA HA THEY'RE ALL TRAPPED IN THE LINGERE DEPARTMENT LOL LOOK AND THERE ARE MORE AND IT GOES ON FOR AGES ISN'T IT FUNNY. Still, I'm glad you're enjoying it, Compcat!

seriously though I get why you might not find that bit as funny as other people may do, I actually think it does drag after a while myself, but to call it ridiculously unfunny is mad!

and halfway through writing that sentence I just remembered you're the guy who talked about Gavin And Stacey as if that steaming pile was the greatest comedy ever so I guess your opinion suddenly makes a bit more sense..

hahahah I don't think Gavin and Stacey is amazing TV but I do think it's one of the best British comedies of the past few years* and that it gets an unnecessary amount of hate from people who think it's just Welsh jokes and people falling over when it's this very quiet, down-to-Earth comedy that there aren't enough of. and it's way funnier than only fools and horses.

*I don't like a lot of my own country's TV ok

I don't think I've really loved a british show since life on mars. admittedly I havent gone out of my way to watch much current TV in the last few years but still. I've still got the sopranos and the wire to watch, for god sake.
