Eh, sounds like unnecessary hating to me.
You could say Diablo III/WoW is just constantly clicking of a mouse, or even Walking Dead with it's lack of controller input. As long as it's cinematic and interesting then I honestly don't care for the buttons i'm pressing or not pressing. I'm sure it'll be good.

That again Square Enix didn't even dignify my CV with a response so FORGET THOSE GUYZ.

Oh and i'm playing Uncharted now as I recently got a PS3. Most overrated game ever. I appreciate it's a fair few years since it was released, but it's really no better than Tomb Raider Legend.

That article has little effect on my opinion of this game because I wasn't particularly excited by it in the first place. I appreciate the fact that they want to make a prequel and explain the origin of the character but the whole thing looks absolutely grim.

I play Tomb Raider games for the fact that Lara's life is so exciting and she goes to all these wonderful places and I'd really rather not spend hours watching her barely survive each day. I love her resourcefulness in other TR games but find it hard to believe that the character who existed before all the tomb raiding would be capable of surviving what it sounds like she's going to be put through. It all seems to lack believability (in terms of characterisation, not storyline - I'm well aware that outright impossible things have happened in other TR games) or enjoyability.

Pretty sure I'd spend the whole time worrying that she's going to snap like a twig if I bump into a wall and that's not what the franchise is about for me. I want to be tempted to make that crazy jump across a pit but I don't think I'd have the faith in prequel-Lara.

i dont know. the tomb raider series started using quick time events when they were new and it was ok back then. to me this preview is sounding to me like they might have removed all the shitty QTEs but didnt come up with a way for the cinematic stuff to be interactive. in the end, as long as there's lots of platforming, interesting puzzles and shit, it doesn't matter. but if there's tons of cinematic stuff that you barely have any direct input in, and this is actually causing there to be less puzzles/platforming, it would get me pretty annoyed. i guess we really can't know till the game comes out though.

i mean i haven't seen a preview dealing with real platforming puzzles yet. all ive seen is stuff in the middle of cinematic moments. if the game focuses on these, along with the lack of direct input like the reviewer says, i dont think i'd like it.

what worries me is cause of the square enix take over, looking at FF13, that game was so linear, i worry yeah that tomb raider is gonna be similar, not much platforming, just running forward

but hey yeah, let's hope for some REAL gameplay videos, i'm sure there'll be more over the next couple weeks, it's out in march after all
