Take for example a section in a French hotel room: John has to dig up a clue he left himself before losing his memory, which involves finding secret messages on the bathroom mirror and using cardboard cutouts of the Eiffel Tower to see clues in the Paris skyline, all to get a password which nets him a pair of swimming goggles so that he can see a square he painted in luminescent paint at the bottom of a jacuzzi, which is combined with the results of a chess game to identify a specific floor tile, all to get a key that opens a safe containing a business card.

This is not clever puzzle design. This is dribbling insanity.

Shame, that sounds AWFUL. I was actually considering getting this too, but adventure games with puzzles like that just piss me off so much.

A Vampyre Story had some really bad ones too, but overall was really good - so maybe Yesterday isn't THAT bad, but I'm less eager to try it now.
