God fucking DAMN. A sure contender for Best Movie of 2008, and in some ways puts Vlarion to shame. I mean that. I won't attempt to judge my own work against this, but there are a lot of things Will does here that I couldn't manage half as well.

It's a much more "pure" fantasy than Vlarion, and in terms of world-building and epic scale, this is in the top 3 of all 3DMM movies ever. Maybe #1. You won't find a better classic fantasy movie in this community. Ever.

(That said, the final battle and a few scenes before they enter the tomb ran slow as shit on my computer. I didn't realize you wanted that many repetitions in the brick wall, or I'd have made them lower-poly.)

Full review for this bitch as soon as I can manage it.

Same. I've been looking forward to this for a very long time, and I doubt I'm alone about that.

This movie, guys. Its... its truly, truly something special. Seriously.

the only beef I had was some of the dialogue -- but dialogue is fucking hard anyway, and the story and world created here EASILY trump any tiffs I have with the dialogue. Now let me be clear, I was never like, ROAR, THAT LINE SUCKS. Just wasn't in love with it, but, dialogue is hard, especially in fantasy films, and, its good just not as GOOD AS I FEEL IT COULD HAVE BEEN :|

OK now. The music selection. Fucking delicious.

The sound effects are the single best I've ever heard from a 3dmm movie.

The plot is intriguing as fuck, and I want more. I WANT MORE. The moment I finished watching it, I wantedto watch it again. I want more. I want the next installment. PLEASE consider doing the next episode, oh my GAWD.

The animation, was dated, but I'll be a monkey's anus if I don't love old school 3dmming styles. The mix of new and old styles actually WORKS QUITE WELL here. Everything looks fantastic, the fights are impressive, the sounds OH GOD YES.

And that ending is fucking balls.

97/100

THIS DESERVES A LONG ASS POST BECAUSE IT WAS A LONG ASS FILM

Ok er...WOW
erm, since it's the most recent thing i saw i'll comment on it first
THE ENDING CREDITS, WOW, i've always liked final fantasy music, and it's great you used it so fuckin WELL, but yeah THE ENDING CREDITS, the KH and FFX music was the fuckin best choice of music to really SEND THAT MOVIE OUT to give that real OOMPH for people to just gape at the end. Haha, listen to me go on about music i recognise like a DORK, but yeah.

TECHNICAL ISSUES:
like aaron said, the room with the second crystal and some other rooms around that bit, ARGH MAJOR SLOWDOWN, fortunately i got well into the last fight thanks to ol' YU YEVON, glad someone used that bad boy properly, unlike JDR revolutions :3. AND ALSO, SOUND BUG SOUND BUG OH NO, when it came to the dialogue i was (VERY) proud to be a part of, half of bevis lines didn't seem to PLAY. he was just doing the talk action then all of a sudden i was all AND YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT (haha i forgot how goofy i made his voice)

NOW THE ACTUAL MOVIE:
FUCKIN A, i was looking forward to quoting Aaron where he said YOU HAVEN'T WON 2 BEST MOVIE AWARDS SO SUCK ON THAT, YOU PLANK, and be all haha i have now, but now this has come out, YOU FUCKING RUINED IT, ARHHH this is gonna win, if this doesn't, and i get the trophy, i'm fucking recarving the text and sending it YOUR WAY.

the action scenes were really REALLY WELL DONE, i mean, i was wow'd by your teasers and stuff, but i didn't expect the action scenes to be so GOOD, my favourites including the pillar collapsing scene near the start, and all the rotating camera angles in all the fights, must have been a bitch, and yeah, the last action scene, my word, diablo meets Doc-ock? whatever the fuck it was, IT MADE FOR my new favourite action scene of all time, seriously, fuck toilet humour, R Kelly is awesome n all, BUT THIS TAKES THE CAKE, i'm not gonna mark you down for the slowdown, but SHIT THAT MIGHT CAUSE A FUSS

VOICE ACTING:
you got a great variety there, GREAT, they all did a fab job, like i said, i'm glad i could be a part of this movie, even if it was only a few lines

SCENERY:
LACKING IN DEPTH in some cases, but some of the scenes were just so GORGEOUS without slowdown it was incredible, why the lesser GORGEOUS scenery was causing mega slowdown i have NO IDEA, maybe look into this when yuo make PT.2 YEAH? YEAH! YOU'RE GONNA MAKE THAT AREN'T YOU. make it for 2009 and FUCK ME OVER MY 2 BEST MOVIE TROPHIES AGAIN. CUNT.

I'M GOING TO GIVE THIS MOVIE
99/100
I was gonna say 100 BUT when people were talking their HANDS WERE GOIN THROUGH BALCONIES AND OTHER PEOPLE OHAHR IT WAS JUST A BIG MESS TERRIBLE

WHOOPEEE MY VOTE GOT IT INTO 5-STAR STATUS

haha sorry about the hyper-energetic review but THIS MOVIE WAS TAHT GOOD IT GOT ME ON A WAHAEY

fuck i need to lie down

This film was truly incredible, Slade. Seriously, well done for finally getting this thing done. I loved it.

The trailers did what they were supposed to do, only give us a glimpse of things to come, what I thought I had seen before was all the best bits, just to make people more intrested, I was blown away by the fight scenes, the story itself, the animation and of course, the scenery. Obviously there were flaws, it did sort of bother me abit with some characters not having edited costumes and looking NORMAL in a fantasy medievil style film, though I know it would have probably killed you to actually fix everything up from start to finish, including the weapons and characters. I experienced a sound bug during the intro, aswell as noticing a couple of things I thought were a little rushed or not given a second look but to be honest, it doesn't fucking matter, Will.

This is your movie, you have worked extremely hard to get it done and you definatley deserve not only the Best Movie Award for 2008, but also a good long rest.

10/10

Welp, I have absolutely no problems with sound bugs or volume when I watch LoS on my computer, but this whole "sfx/music drowning out dialogue until its inaudible" sounded pretty serious when Aaron AIM'd me about it. As for slowdown, yeah, I really don't get it that much but I am sometimes unneccessarily messy when it comes to scene construction. I was fucking worried. Still, I'll just be lazy and say take it for the rough diamond that it is (hopefully), and know that I'd be much neater if I got around to part 2.

Which isn't an impossibility! Just not for a while. I just moved into Uni today. I'm a little spaced out right now, but know that I'm very thankful for these amazing comments. It took four years to get around to finishing this mofo and was it worth the effort? Fucking YES.

As someone who's seen it both ways, the fixed one is seriously a whole 20 points higher.

amazing work. Though, I will say, if you do part 2, send me the entire scenes so I know what I'm reacting to. I didn't think my voice always fit in the scene.

That said, unbelievable. It made me wish Omnus wasn't like 150 mb as it is WITHOUT the dialogue scenes and a battle sequence. The characters were well created, the world definitely was unique, and the action was great. My only gripe on that is a small one about the uniforms of the soldiers. I felt like you did such a great job on costumes for your leads that you could have created one for the good guy and bad guy cannon fodder. Seriously, well fucking done. I hope you continue the story.

A fantastic RPG-style movie, quite probably the best yet. Some of the scenery and animation were bit dated, as has been mentioned, yet I didn't find it incongruous with the "feel" of the movie. It was essentially an old-school fantasy game along the lines of Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger. I loved it.

Two things that would make the second episode even stronger would be custom costumes for the rest of the actors and a bit more attention to sound design. While the cosutmes for the main characters were brilliant, the use of default clothing for the minor or background characters was a bit of an eyesore in comparison to the rest of the visuals. (I believe Andres brought this up in one of the hype or preview threads.) Concerning sound, the music was wonderful but could have been improved with better transitions and a few volume tweaks. At least a few custom "medieval" sound effects to replace the 3dmm stock sounds would have been nice as well.

Epic movie, Slade. I'm glad to have been a part of it and eager to one day see the rest of the saga. Congratulations for a great work.

I forgot Garamond isn't a normal font, and I should've included it in the zip file. Still, I could always Vimeo it myself if it's not complicated. Would sort out sound bugs/lag issues.

Thanks again, people!

This was really good, epic, definitely going to be a part of 3dmm history. I'll probably end up doing a proper review on 3dmm temple sometime in the future.

This was amazingly good. I had an issue with the epic music in the beginning and then you went to early 90's RPG-type music... but that's really about it. The last fight was fantastic, must have been such a bitch to coordinate that whole thing.

Full review whenever I update and all that.

Some thoughts

So....Valentine was like....three different classes of henchmen then? A little bit jarring, but still something very.....3dmmish about it. I think there's quite a bit of potential for Big Movie spoofs here The only point which it really bothered me much was when there were some Michaels mixed in as well, mainly since he was one of the main characters.

VERY fancy camera work at points, especially in some of the fight scenes. Major points there.

Parts of the final boss slowed down my computer as well. What the hell was IN that? The boss itself was VERY well animated. Nice job with the chains.

Usually it kinda bugs me when movies use iconic, overused Square-Enix music, but it actually worked in the end credits....or maybe I just like the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack enough to let you away with it.

You seem to have more or less nailed the Aaron Haynes style of painstaking insertion of library sounds we've heard a zillion times before and making them sound....well....as good as they get really (this is a good thing, although I don't think I worded it too well :/ )

Writing wise, the story and characters, whicle kinda cliched in this early stage are forgivable, since most Epic Fantasy Sagas seem to start off like that, before nailing something more unique down the line. The original Vlarion movies are guilty in this regard too. If the series DOES continue, I'm looking forward to where it goes.
