I didn't like the narration, either. The line reading just seemed a tad too mechanical. On second thought maybe that was intentional to make the viewer think the narrator is unrelated and just telling a story? Just didn't feel good. I also felt that the story itself was pretty lacking.--on rewatch it feels like a good four or five sentences were completely skipped or that something intended to be removed accidentally wasn't. What was the whole deal about people settling down in the area again? oh suddenly some kind of undying monster. I felt like something was missing. What happens to Adam? If he's killed why didn't the glasses show it? Were the glasses a way of seeing Adam's point of view as he is dying and watches his sister die? Was I confused because I spent half a minute trying to figure out why the boys' names were Adam and Eve until Heath was spoken again? Maybe it SHOULD've been Adam and Steve.

sorry anyway oh and yes I was also confused by the SPLAGOOSH of the leaf, I don't know what the noise was supposed to be and spent the whole rest of the movie thinking that the Vimeo was out of sync.

On the positive side, though, the scenery was wonderful, and, for the most part, I was drawn right into the movie the whole time, thanks to the music and the general atmosphere. I love Bevis's work, but I really didn't feel like I came away with anything from this one.

The scenery is excellent. Some of the best. The story-line was pretty unoriginal and the ending didn't make much sense... I also don't understand the sploosh leaf... It COULD be something off screen but why would you put that in if you weren't going to show it... Another problem is how much detail is put into every line. Things like "small clearing" are not really necessary as we can see them... Maybe it was just the narration that made me think this... I personally don't have much of a problem with the narration. Most people who do just ask yourself "How could this particular movie have had better narration?" It really can't... Oh, and I too was wondering about the "Adam and Eve" thing...

He said "or maybe not", and that was in parentheses, initialed by "Eric could've done a better job". It was clear that he was ignorant of Eric's voicing. He didn't mean that Eric's not cut out, that was a maybe wrapped in parentheses.

Anyway, I watched the vimeo.

I agree with Compcat that it was the first Bevis I've liked so far. I've honestly never really liked his works before this, but this was very well-done. I disagree with the people knocking the narration; I thought it was okay, and served its purpose. Just plain, normal narration so as not to give anything away, to leave the viewer in suspense. If it was "...*sobs*...THAT DAY....OMG...." then we would've known what the entire thing was about the minute we clicked "play". I suppose it could've been like that at the end, once everything's already revealed, but if anything I blame that on Bevis for not making it clearer to Eric what he needed to do.

But yeah, awesome contribution. Bravo.

That's very true, if Eric's lines were placed over more dramatic music they would've worked perfectly.

Reviewed. Awesome work man, nice to see you branching out into more narrative-directed films.
