So these actually DO do something? Cause a while ago, I remember some bigtime 3dmm directors claiming it does nothing.

Neither one does anything.

Except for v3dmm objects, which lag the first time they appear and need to be cached as a result.

I mean, it seems like the whole cache thing SHOULD do something, but it would only affect old computers.

But whatever the last movie with a cache screen I watched was, the cache screen ROCKED. I believe it was a Dan movie.

Yeah, Dan accounts for about 100% of classic cache screens. Every time he makes a movie, I tell him to keep it in, because they're fun and he does them really well.

If you mean v3dmm ones, yes, they lag upon their first appearance. I cache every font object at the beginning of my movies.

Texture lag isn't noticeable unless they're HUGE.

Liam Brocklehurst is making a movie about a spy that has a bullet bill in it and it's probably going pretty okay

I could probably get started on the 3DMM part of Solstice any day now and it wouldn't take too long. It's just a matter of finding time and interest to do that (I need to be spending more of my time on my portfolio).

I'm gonna need some serious motivation to finish this. It's probably gonna be shortened to like 4 minutes.

I'd have to say 85% done. It's pretty hellish animating this fucking HMC. God knows how Goro handles the Ninjas.

coming on slowly now. scaled down a bit, going to hold off most of the ideas for later on as i don't want to rush them for the festival and ruin them!
