Fencedings
Aaron Haynes's Avatar
Description:
A collection of repeatable fences and similarly themed objects -- including three wooden plank fence styles, one stone fence, four chain link fences, several gate repetitions, railroads, and ceramic floor tiles. Also includes broken models for all three wooden plank types.

Some things of note:

1. I didn't have time or patience to make screenshots this time around. I also didn't put much effort into the preview screenshot. Frankly, it sucks. I would be highly grateful if someone would make a good one.

2. Most grouped objects have edge pivots rather than center pivots. This didn't make them repeatable as I expected (e.g. "hhhhhh" linking them correctly), but it still should make setting them up in a scene a little easier.

3. I think I did a better job on texture repetitions this time around, but the tiles will probably work better if you place them on top of a lighter-shade-texture flat plane.

4. I assigned blank models to the unused letters this time, so no more popding when you load the font before deleting "3D Movie Maker" or select a letter the font doesn't use.

5. Please make screenshots. It's extremely tedious for one person to do after hours spent tweaking, converting, importing, loading, etc. etc.

Enjoy!

But for the models like h which are long lines of fence, rather than one plank of wood, you can write "h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h" and it grows outwards at both edges by a few planks per letter:

Kinda...

It only works for the long ones like H. Except it doesn't work for the one with the pointy railings that looks like spears.

You can get some clever effects out of this that aren't even fence-related. I made this ... but it isn't a .gif, it's .wmv :

It works best with about 5 spaces inbetween.
