The scene where the camera pans through the jungle still blows me away. Beautiful.

I can't help but feel that this always was a bit too ambitious for it's own good. I haven't read the novel myself, but from the look of it, it doesn't seem like a novel that would easily translate into a 3DMM film. To be fair, I guess few novels would. Nonetheless it would be interesting to see where Andres would have gone with this if it hadn't been unfinished.

It's a very straightforward novel and easily adaptable to 3dmm. The problem with something like this is it's always going to be long, and I wanted it to be very moody, which meant elaborate shit like what you saw here.

While I liked all the stuff I did, I wonder how the actual movie would have turned out, simply because I was what, 16 years old? I don't think I would have been able to add much insight into the themes.

As you said, probably too ambitious. I was going for some "camera" "use" that was really out there. I'm actually kinda shocked at how well it turned out considering at the time I wasn't incredibly well versed in real movies. Oh well.

In your defense, I suppose, you are 15.

I'll allow that it isn't very subtle, and the scenario is a little convenient for Golding to emphasize his point, but somehow I don't think that's where your problems with it come from.

I liked this book, probably my favorite of the books I was forced to read.

This movie certainly must be much better than the 3 screenshots up top make it look.

It's a massive shame this was never finished. Some shots in this are still spectacular.

Well, it's relatively easy to think of 3 or 4 really great shots

The impressive thing would be not burning yourself or boring yourself after that
