Old but gold (Best movie ever?)
Ross Marlow's Avatar
Go to movie
Sir Flodbottom and his comrades go on a quest to find the treasure of Camelot.

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS!

First off: Yes, i know it's old and there's been a couple other reviews on it, but i don't care. It's and old but gold movie for sure.

The animation is absolutley astounding! After a little research and a lot of spare time, i found that Thomas used over 700 props and NO actors. Is it the first movie with no actors? I don't know, for sure. The fact that the characters are all props is just the icing on the cake...

The storyline and jokes are completley perfect. The best bits including the milk-cutting, the blacksmith, Jimmy's ironing, the Rabbit-tortoise, the 'Ooh, how dead?' part, the Knighting of Sir Bugger, the Casino Slot Machines, The Dark-Ages guy on stage and the Creepy Banjo-guy. The story of the Run-away Knight Flod, The depressed cook and the stange midget are all tied together in "Ta-Da!" Fashion.

The Casino scene is hilarity itself. The Stage quote about the sun running out of gas was a brilliant joke. But the best and most pant-pissing quote was:
Quote:
"Oi've looked all around the world for the treasure!" *looks at treasure chest beside bush* "Except over there."
The ending is also completley unexpected, Sir Bugger's confessing that he thought Flod had it was outstandingly funny.

Altogether, i found absolutley NOTHING wrong with the movie, no parts that were meant to be funny but wern't, and the animation couldn't possibly be beaten. There is a big question about this film: Is this the best 3DMM movie ever?

It's yours to decide.

Excellent
“The best 3DMM movie i've ever watched. Possibly the Best in the entire community.”

Probably not the best ever made, but a brilliant movie for sure. It's just got that heartwarming, innocent humor that's rare to come across these days.

There are plenty of films with better animation. Anything ever made by Goro, Haynes and Pikios, for starters.

Yeah, the animation is... admirable, but certainly not the best.

It has the best comedic personality, I think. Its character's reactions are as emotive and perfect as anything done in this program. The actual animation is pretty rough.

(Rough, but elemental -- nothing important is missing).

B-B-But he animated using only shapes.....

That's somethings nobody has ever done. At least not in a big movie that's.... really funny.... and cool.... but whatever....

Yeah. Just because he used shapes doesn't make it the best movie ever. In fact, there is another movie, Bodily Functions that used 2 actors. Everything else is props, which has better animation. But, this movie has a good plot, good setting, good acting, great comedy and great directing.

Also, good bump.

if you're referring to the movie, you should probably comment in its thread, not the thread for this review. if you're referring to the review, you're ross marlow.

I don't think so. Doesn't seem to be acting much like Marlow at all.
