3DMM Evil Episode 02

After watching the first episode of 3DMM Evil, I was expecting the second one to impress me a lot more. The movie does, in some places, but unfortunately there were one or two things which let it down. But don't let that distract you, if you enjoyed the first show, you should be entertained with this one. It's just, I dunno, perhaps I was expecting too much from this?

Well, let's go through the improved stuff. The most obvious one is the scenery. In episode one, all there was in the main chat room was a chair, a table, and that's it. Oh, and a blank wall and a boring floor. This episode improves this by a considerable amount. The chair is better constructed, there is a window with buildings in view, and there is even a pretty cool floor pattern. In the visual department, everything was more or less fine. Well done on this. The show in general is slightly better constructed too. In the first one, I did not feel that it was as organised as it could have been, but with episode two, Klaymen has definitely given more thought into when the skits and interviews came up. This format is fine, and I don't think much needs to be changed for episode three in this area.

But we start to come to the bits which I feel underperformed. The skits weren't as funny as the previous show, and sometimes I was just waiting for one to end. A couple were good, yes, but some were pretty dull, sorry. The next rather disappointing point is more my fault than Klaymen's. Because I am rather new to the 3DMM community, there are bound to be some names I am unfamiliar with, and this episode is a good example. Although I have heard their names relatively often, I don't have much knowledge at all of Apfigur and Jpro. But I'm sure that if you know them well, you should be entertained with their interviews.

For me, my favourite bit was the interview of the first guest, Gorosaurus. The Goro interview was a tiny bit too short, but in these couple of minutes, like the Thomas Saville and Sammy Sagitarius interviews, I enjoyed listening to what there was. At the end of the day, you have to ask yourself, "was this an improvement on the first one". And the answer to this? Overall, yes. We are treated to a better chat room, we are treated to one extra guest (and the interviews are good, providing you know them more than their names), and we are treated to something better organised. The only big downside was really the quality of the skits, but apart from that, episode two is worth the watch. As long as the quality of the interviews stays like this, and as long as the skits improve, the third one should be a treat.
