Storch does enjoy making these short dramas and in my view The Memory is the best of them. The movie builds to a crecendo effectively, one that makes sense and again, The Memory is the most tangible of the shorts, as it really gives Storch the creative freedom he needs in terms of wide angles and well placed shots. There is no doubt Mike knows what hes doing, and again he uses music to tell the story as much as its used to reinforce it. The narrative is easy enough to follow, the ending is, while predictable made immensely suspenseful and again the issues addressed are all very real. You'd be forgiven for thinking this has been done before because, not as directly it has been. But its rarely been done with as much tension as is seen here, and indeed the directorial methods are all very admirable. It's a good short, if sometimes theres an overwhelming sense of deja vu.
