Plot Summary:
A grieving husband plays a game for his dead wife's soul.

Filling up the archive.

For what was billed as (and largely considered by the community) an Unleash the Dragon hype vehicle, I thought this was pretty good.

All the dialogue was from Twisted Metal: Black lololololo

This is still confusing, but the mood and pacing help it along. It feels creepy and complete as an idea even if I'm not sure it is. Similar to what Pogo said to me on AIM, it's like a Faustian pact where the devil's ironic twist is just kinda half-assed and lazy. The "Elysium"/"Asylum" play on words is cute, but the implications are too broad and the character just repeating the poem from the beginning doesn't stand in for closure.

There's a number of theories you could apply, but it seems like you'd have to bring them yourself, the movie seems satisfied it's done enough. Still, I can't deny that it's pretty morose and creepy altogether.

Also, I'm pretty sure I reviewed this at some point, I'll have to go find the review and add it.

I had never seen this before, and I watched it with the volume pretty low, so I may have missed a line or two of dialogue.

Initially I thought he was responsible for the loss of his wife, but the twist is unique, that the man's words were twisted. It feels like this could have been fleshed out a bit more, but the running time is good for such a short.

The trailer before it felt longer than the actual piece.

I didn't like this. The idea itself was pretty cool (and potentially creepy), but nothing's fleshed out well enough to make the kind of impact it was going for. And voice-overs such as this one tend to make things way too melodramatic.

The UTD hype hysteria was pretty funny though.

I remember being so impressed by the UTD trailer back in the day. Most of it still holds up pretty well today too, especially the explosions and the helicopter ...
I guess the one thing that lets it down would have to be the scene movements, They get kinda jerky in spots. It was before 3DMM animation pro I think, so I guess that's understandable. The freeze frame rotation at the end is still pretty sweet though.

interesting...I'm not sure if everything made sense to me but I liked the mood. I kinda rolled my eyes when "heaven" turned out to be an asylum.

Yeah, it was a bit confusing to me too. The voice had that typical "teenager pretending to be deep" tone, but wasn't too distracting. Short and experimental are a good mix though, and I found it to be engaging, even if I'll probably have completely forgotten about it by tomorrow.
