It seems that somebody already started parodying my short. However, unlike my original short, their short was purely 3DMM animation with the exception of the Party Toast Productions ending sequence which they allegedly ripped from mine.

Clinton, I'm not going to bash your ideas. They're not bad. But the problem is, they are YOUR ideas. You need to act on them and execute them yourself. If you think it's brilliant, do something that can show how great it can be, not the lowest quality version of it. A poorly made, vague example of the idea is not going to spark a huge movement in doing this. Make something TRULY impressive with your idea. Maybe a whole movie showing how awesome it can be. Just showing everyone something and saying "I know this is crappy, but it COULD be good" isn't going to get anyone interested. If anything, they'll look at it and think "That's gay." and move on.

Personally, and I am not being malicious about this, I think your idea's kind of lazy in terms of movie making. It seems a lot like taking the easy way out. Part of the fun of watching these movies is knowing the effort people put into the effects. That's why people loved Pozin's stuff and why they loved Vlarion and other movies like that. You know the director busted their ass to create these effects, not just threw some shit on screen and recorded themselves playing a game.

hey, I'm not NOT on your side. I don't hate you.. and you're trying to take 3dmm to places other people haven't. And i respect that. But I just think you really need to refine your style, and just.. get better at 3dmm before releasing everything to this community. They're pretty.. cut-throat.

This isn't exactly new - I experimented with this in the past (the gif may still be floating around) using the flat billboard font and high-res screenshots of Owers' unreleased Misty City HL2 map. Unfortunately, this was in the days before custom palletes, so it looks fairly arsey, but the basic effect was there.

3. Dude, the transition from 3DMM/Doom was crap.
4. If I want to use machinama in the first place, I won't go through this crap and combined the two, it makes it more confusing and crappy, so I would only use 1 of the techniques.
