Holy shit, it's Charlie! I was wondering if this would ever come out. Really snazzy stuff. Great job with all the scenery detail. I can't wait for the next movie.

Also, haha @ "I'm selling these fine leather jackets."

When did this get finished? I remember seeing a 98% complete version of this a while back, and wondering why it never got released.

Also, IIRC, this is the prelude to Charlie, and not the actual film itself. I'll download it tomorrow.

Very nice! The animation was a little meh sometimes, but good job with the scenery and stuff.

Agreed, the technical detail in this movie is astounding. Especially the train sequence.

Wow, I haven't seen a movie of this calibur since Redwampa and Spencer's Ghost in the Shell. A movie that feels like a movie!

I loved the distinct style and the precision that went into every frame. I can tell that a lot of work went into this, and I do appreciate this extreme level of detail! It all comes together very beautifully; you should be proud of yourself! Extra points for good character work, even custom ones were animated very nicely.

The story seemed to have merits that few 3dmm movies ever do. I actually remembered and cared about most of the characters, the story seemed to have someplace to go, and it didn't need outrageous action or over-the-top drama to keep me entertained.

The voice acting was generally good. The lines were spoken clearly and with enough difference between characters to be differentiated. The music was surprisingly effective and well edited! Watching most of the scenes without the music playing just robs them of much of the atmosphere and style. Good choices there!

Is this an isolated anomaly, or will this story be continued? I am now really invested in them, and I'd love to see it continued! You've produced quite a gem here, and this could be one of the most unique, well-produced 3dmm movies in years. Pat yourself on the back with one hand, and get clicking with the other!

Very impressive movie, ive seen a lot of films and tv series with far worse dialogue than that. Like Goro I started to grow attached to the characters which is a good sign.

It reminded me a bit of shit happens, in the way that story just takes over and any animation problems really are not noticed.

Its interesting watching your films because they always had a fantastic amount of attention to detail.

Really hope part 2 comes out before too long, great job!!

It's the prequel to a much longer feature film (Charlie) that was in production in 2005 and 2006, but has fallen into development hell. Eric said he was still interested in finishing it, but he's going to Australia until December, so it'll probably be 2008 at earliest. Everyone was really psyched about it and then it just kind of fell off the radar, but oh my god, it was insanely well-written and looked incredible. I really hope it doesn't disappear entirely.

This is partially my fault. I gave Eric a laundy list of criticisms/improvements and, as often happens, they would take a week or two of re-animating and editing to implement. Delays ensued and it got pushed to the back burner. I was concerned that he had all these amazing sets, but was going with some pretty basic camera angles and suggested a number of shots to redo with better ones. I might have overstated these concerns, so if that's what killed your inspiration for getting this out, Eric, sorry about that.

Will watch today!

Well, to our knowledge, he made the very first 3DMM movie that any other human being ever saw back in 1996, so he might've been before your time.

I left Google Uploader on all night so I could upload this movie to Google Video, come to find out that the video is fucked up for a few seconds at the beginning all because I wanted to erase the mouse cursor from the movie. However, it doesn't really make it unwatchable, so here's the Google Video version anyway:

much thanks for the positive feedback.

As Aaron stated, this was originally supposed to be the prequel for Charlie. But Charlie was sort of placed on the backburner two years ago.

However, I recently re-discovered 3dmm (as you can tell by my post history) and having released this, I am very excited with starting it up again. Also as Aaron stated I am in Australia until December, so when I get back to the states and have all my models, programs, and backup files for Charlie on me can I really do anything more. Looking forward to picking it back up. It's really just these comments that are doing it for me, so thanks again. I truly appreciate it.

Yeah Charlie was looking so good. I just hadn't heard about this one at all, so I wasn't sure what the case was about everything.

This definitely needs more comments

Thought I'd already commented for some reason... Anyways, I seriously loved this movie, I agree with Gorosaurus about caring for the characters, I felt like I wanted to follow even more story with them when the film had finished.

And as for the environment and scenery, completely mind blowing. But you have the gist of that from all of the other comments.

I have to say, this is the best movie I've seen in quite a while. It was a lot like CSI, you really get a feeling for the characters, their interactions with each other, and the scenery, the animation, the music, the voicing, it was all great. My only complaint, and a minor one at that, is that the song 'bad decision' from the soundtrack was high-q'ed in PCM format, thus being a whole ~11 MB alone. Other than that, just plain amazing.
