Ice the Cat: The Lost Oprhan
Mattzer's Avatar
Go to movie
2006, Movie, Adventure, Directed by Espeon
This begins the story of Ice. A lost orphan searching for adventure

The opening scene shows a 3 frame long flying (cat?) with a few tree's in the background, and automaticly cuts to the "Icy Productions" Logo screen. That is when the audiance is... *cough*blasted into adventure*cough*
Here is my review of Ice the Cat.. and his grand 35 second prologue adventure (i hope to god this is unfinished).

Synopsis:
After the "Icy Productions" (originally 3908 productions) logo, the blue cat Xeagles (revealed later in the prologue) lands into the grass and looks around flapping his default scenery (torus) ears, and looks to the leaves (flattened explosions), and finds a purple cat, then Ice The Cat title comes up in a black background. Then Xeagles flings his arms out blowing away the flattened ex.. i mean leaves with some weird telekenisis (spelling?) revealing a smiling cat with purple spikes (or some weird hatware), he immediatly loses his smile as the camera pans down his chest revealing his strings for clothes, Xeagles pushes him up, and a note falls out, Xeagles picks up the note and reads "This is ice. my son, I am unable to take care of him so i entrust him with Xeagles. Thank you". Xeagles smiles.... (evily?)

Okay, now the review

Animation Type: HMC. Rating: 31/100
Well, as some people know, Espeon wasnt the "Greatest Animator of All Time", and not the "Average Animator", and not really a great HMC animator, so this movie shows it. Some people dont have the hmc gift, Espeon dosent. All though this would look like a movie made by a new person to the forums and just got a fresh start on 3dmm, however espeon has been here for 11 months, and he should gain some 3dmm inheritence, how ever he has improved since his last public movie *cough*sonic the movie trailer*cough*, but it has been 10 months since he has published that, and that should be enough time to get better hmc skills if thats what he's concentrating on. Now im not saying he is awful, just needs some major improvements.

Storyline: 56/100
Since many of the people online are atleast over 14, I wouldnt think that many people would be intrested in a movie about a fantasy about cats. But this would attract smaller audiancess (4-8 year olds?), and could be a good movie if it had the proper animation and a little kick in the storyline, if espeon could maybe release the script maybe people who would express intrest in this movie could be intrested... but... i dont think men would be excited about a story of a lost cats adventures... what ever they are..

Sounds: ?/100
There are no sounds in this movie but the music, and the music is seperate from the sounds. It might have been a bit (1/99999999999999999 of a bit to be exact) more intresting

Music 32/100
The only track was a midi (no one uses midis anymore, unless you are making fun of them) that sounded like a zelda track (dont really play the old zelda). HOWEVER.. considering this is a fantasy story about cats.. I guess the music would fit into this 35 second movie, or prologue, or trailer, or

. This movie would be better if it was longer.

35 SECOND MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!

Overall Average: 29/100
Overall, this wasnt really a great movie. V3dmm would have greatly improved the quality with todays great expansions (due to psychoholiday being down most cant be enjoyed at the moment), instead this movie looked like 1998/1999 movie. Like i said, 10 months is a long time to improve, so I hope your watching todays movies (that are good). Im not saying this to insult you either, just my opinion of what could have been a moderatly intresting 3dmm movie roaming around 3dmm.com, and the better you make your movies the more rep you get, so start practicing physics, custom scene making, and especially hmc work, start out with normal actors, then when you feel your ready, you can begin on hmc, but hmc is not a thing to just start out doing, so like i said, practice your hmc work (and do not, i repeat, do NOT post any of them on 3dmm.com unless one of your practice films are suitable, fluid, and.... suitable).

I look foward to seeing your next movie.

Side Note:
This felt more like a trailer than a prologue.

I'm amazed that you could write such a long review out of a 35 second movie..

Ok, i'm going to correct you on a few things you misunderstood.
The blue thing at the beginning was a Xeagle.

Each Xeagle had a slightly different shaped pair of wings, some being a perfect circle and some being a square.

This also explains the wings. They are not ears!

Also, he blew the leaves away with his arms

He isn't wearing strings, he's wrapped in a shrawl and i'm trying my best to show it (but failing miserably) also, the spikes on his head is like anime hair, if you get what i mean

The name of the Xeagle is Xargle, revealed in the third movie.

Thank you for being the first one to look on the bright side and say that i am getting better, just for that, i'm going to show you the first scene of the next one.

It may seem that i'd have improved after all this time, but no, i hardly ever use 3DMM, preferring to talking to my mates. Plus, i usually get flamed when i make movies, usually from one little flaw.

I turn 14 in a few months. Just to let you know it's an anthropomorphic cat.

The sound track i use is "Kolima forest" from golden sun, i felt that it worked well with the movie. I am using voice actors from now on though.

The next one will actually be longer, but still rather short, considering my abilites and patient aren't that good

Yes, i have been told V3dmm would help, but i don't know where to get all the textures and stuff from, let alone how to make them myself.

I've also only just regained use of 3dmm so i haven't had a chance to get some of the new movies, and since my evil mum (not really evil) moved my computer downstairs, i can't really watch them since they're likely to have swearing in them, thus my Mum hears and forbids me to watch them ¬_¬

Thanks for the reveiw though, cheers ^_^

if your lookin for v3dmm stuff, most all of em are here, but since psychoholiday is down you've got a 4 day wait. To check on it http://psychoholiday.com/uploader/ will tell you exactly how long you have to wait, until the waits over it will bring you to the site.

It's pretty dumb that one of the scores in your review is based on the movie's length.

If a movie is too damn long/short, it's annoying. Like, I personally thought Moderately Confused was way too long and it hurt the score I gave it.
