Landscape Font 2
Aaron Haynes's Avatar
Description:
The second set of 3D landscape models in font form; includes mountains, caves, rock formations, valleys, cliff faces, interconnecting tunnels, and a few interesting surprises.

I put this together a few months ago; worked really, really hard on it for about three days, modeling all kinds of stuff I thought would be useful. Then something went wrong with the format conversion tools and every model in the font failed to texture correctly. I then lost interest and forgot all about it, until today, when I finished it up on the spur of the moment.

A few things don't work quite right, I know: none of the interconnecting tunnels work with textures, there are a few letters that just produce a blank model, and the factory is far less impressive than I'd hoped for it to be (Maya's polygon boolean function is quite broken, so the gradient version looks horrendous). Still, there's a hell of a lot here, so enjoy.

More test images coming soon. In the meantime, make your own.

Very cool! Makes me wish the models didn't have such high polygon counts.

This is awesome, but uhhh... get Travis to give me that v3dmm page where you can see what each letter does what. I absolutely hate "finding out what letter does what" with these things. It makes me stop working on movies.

I could create one. Unless someone can get it from Travis.
I'll post it in a new thread.
