Alien Invasion (Part 1; Conspiracy)
Cubert's Avatar
Plot Summary:
Film about an alien Invasion, or at least, the consipracy around one.

As stupid as posting rubbish old movies seems to me, everyone else seems to get away with it. I suppose it's better here than not, at least you now can now choose to download it.

It's a nice stupid action film. The occasional dialogue used only as a means to travel to the next shootout or car chase. This was the first 'proper' film I made (proper being that of a length more than 2 minutes and with some attempt at a plot). Being "my first movie ever" and all you can expect 100% default scenery.

I'd like to point out, I like to think I've improved greatly since I made this in 2003. Check out my recent work just so that I don't get remembered just for this crap (http://www.3dmm.com/showthread.php?t=16551)

I'd like to point out (before someone else does). The screenshots are heavily edited. Don't expect the actual thing to look that good.

Anyway, enjoy...and feel free to laugh.

Don't edit the screenshots. Why would you even want to?

There was no need to edit the screenshots, it was a good movie anyway. It was actually quite good for no expansions used. I liked some of the effects you used.

Cool. Thank you. I still feel I might as well of edited the screens, just to add some class. But I'm glad you liked by terrible early attempts.

Editing the screens won't do anything to help you. When people download the movie and discover the effects in the screenshots aren't in the movie, they'll think less of you and the movie. A lot less.

I know you want a larger audience, but this isn't the way to go about it. Although if you use v3dmm, you can probably achieve some of those effects.

*sigh* I suppose the title of super-moderator does suggest I should listen. All right, no more edited screenshots.

Yeah, that line was just so funny I had to commemorate it somehow. Since I didn't have a signature at the time...

Cool. As someone with a fatally short attention span for 3dmm, that's good to know.

Though I'm still ashamed of this film. But maybe I've got it wrong, and my newer stuff doesn't have the "charm" as this old shit.

Come on Gety and Buz, reply to that with some bitchy comment.

Uhhh... I'm pretty sure Gety and Buz are a little more mature then that. They don't like you because you used their model without permission.

A contradiction in terms, perhaps?

No. That's completely a fair justification.

I thought you were going to let that die? They specifically said they didn't want people using it, you didn't listen to them, so they got mad at you. It's not a hard concept to understand.

It has also been poined out, I'm sure you remember, that v3dmm was designed to share vxps, Travis could have "locked" it if he wanted, but didn't.

Alright alright, I'm a terrible little bastard rebel and all the wealth and prosperity I know enjoy is ill-gotten. Now as I suggested yesterday (6 hours AFTER making the "come on Gety and Buz.." comment), can we just let the subject drop. Or at least contain it within http://www.3dmm.com/showthread.php?t=16601&page=2. If anybody feels the urgent need to call me a theif, at least do it there.

Again, if you need to make (weak) comments on my "crapulance" for borrowing Gety and Buz's models, at least do it at http://www.3dmm.com/showthread.php?t=16601&page=2

I know I'm a newbie and my opinions count for shit, but quoting someone else as your only comment may feel clever and poignant, but it's not. Not in my opinion anyway.

What do you mean "weak"? The logic is flawless. They made it very clear that they didn't want anyone to use the models, and you used the models in the knowledge that they didn't want you to.

Thus: You = Douchebag.

I don't care that you're a newbie. What you did is rude. That's all my weak point is.

Douchebag? Please don't call me cheesy, early 90's terms. And the logic is anything but flawless. v3dmm ran quite happily on the basis of sharing for a while before Gety and Buz decided to change the rules for themselves, suddenly announcing vxp's are not to be shared.

Ok, you shut the fuck up right now. Yes, their reaction was overblown. No, you can't just grab stuff from other 3dmm movies without at least having the common courtesy of asking the creators' permission. Cunt. It's no different than stealing handmade scenes from a movie, or stealing music clips.

Dude, do you not get it? That has nothing to do with it. They didn't want people using their models. You did without telling them or asking them. They got upset because it's RUDE. If they didn't say anything, then it wouldn't be rude.

EDIT - BLUBLUBUBUBLUBLUBL
