Don't we have like, twice the amount of oil they have in our own state of Alaska? Apparently we can't drill for it there though because the hippies are sad that a tree might fall over.

Why the hell did my thread get deleted? I was informing everyone of what just happened?? Must be terrorists running this board. Anyways...

Bush was right when he said...

Terrorists do not formally declare war or follow the rules of war. They attack without warning or mercy. THats why we have to disarm them before they attack. It would be suicide to sit back and let them strike first.

Thats very true. No body wants war, but sometimes its neccessary and bush is right.

Nope. We dont really have any oil here. We get 90% of it from the midwest.

I've been against Bush for several weeks now, but after seeing the address I'm leaning towards the fact that he's doing the right thing. The risk of inaction is higher than using force.

exactly. Everyone criticises bush by saying that he wants to go to war. THats absolutely wrong. Bush wants to avoid war!!! THats why he wants saddam out of iraq. I saddam doesnt leave, there will be war anyways, except they will attack us first and it will be with weapons of great destruction.

So ask yourself whats better...

1. Ordering saddam to leave power so that we may confiscate the weapons and establish peace... and risking war with them if saddam does not co-operate...

or

2. Sitting back and not doing anything in hope to avoid any confrontation, but inevitably, we would be attacked by terrorists with powerful weapons and a full, well planned strategy. It could be another 9/11 or worse.

Its foolish to choose option 2.

actually, he doesnt, considernig he is wrong. We dont have many oil reserves. We get most of it from foreign nations. Say 10% if you want, but you are wrong.

I'd argue more, but goat will probably just ban me for not agreeing with him.

Half of our oil comes from within the United States borders, and of the oil we import, the biggest portion comes from Canada! When it comes down to it, we only end up importing about 10% of our oil from the Middle East. I'll look it up and prove it to you in a second, stupid shit. I've already done it before in another argument.

Not that this has any relevance though, seeing as the war is merely a political stunt by Bush to get re-elected. If he can't turn the economy out of this recession, he's toast. He knows this. The unbrainwashed minds of America know this. This war is simply the quick and dirty way to change all that, because as history has consistently taught us, war is good for the economy. Just today the market went up over 250 some points just because of the huge hint he gave us (and Sadam) on Sunday afternoon.

Reducing the "threat of terror" is simply how he's masquerading his entire position on this conflict. Truth is, his pompous attitude (ignoring the fact that the rest of the world is totally against us) will only further enflame those Islamic religious fanatics who are already so obsessed with labeling everything our country does overseas as American (and barbaric) imperialism. If anything, this will only incite more anger and more terrorism not only in the United States, but in all the free nations that he claims we're protecting.

I know. I mean, I'd be for this if more than just two small countries were on our side. I mean, when you got 7/8 of the world against you, and you're doing it to stop terrorism, it doesn't take a vegatable to figure out that you're not solving anything. I DON'T however think war is good for the economy, especially THIS war. Since Bush may reform the Iraqi government, that will cost ALOT of money, which could create HUGE economical and foreign problems.

So if we've given Iraq 12 years to disarm like Bush has said...does that mean that we've been in danger for the last 12 years? You mean to tell me that Iraq has posed a HUGE threat on American lives for over a decade and we've waited until NOW to do something drastic about it?

So why are we taking measures now? Why is 2003 the year to attack? Why not 1999? Why not 1996? What has made the threat so great that we finally feel the need to do something about it?

Stick to making jokes ruiz. YOu dont even understand the point of that quote.

"except they will attack us first and it will be with weapons of great destruction"

You dont even get it. Bush doesnt want to drop anything on them. All he wants is for saddam to leave power. Once that takes place we can go and inspect their country and remove the weapons of mass destruction. And when that is done, there will be no threat from them. Hence, avoiding dropping anything on them.

I'd go into more detail for you, but your high school drop out ass probably wouldnt understand... again.

Now is better than never. Why have we not taken action in the past years? Because Clinton was president, that's why...

Yes. An incident that had

A) Nothing to do with Iraq
B) Nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction
C) Nothing to do with Saddam or any of his sons

DUDE. Clinton not only held off a war, but had sex with his intern! Bush is both starting a war AND having trouble getting the wife in bed. Compare, bitch.
