N.U.T.S 3 Heartbreaking, yet tremendously exciting
Ben Rice's Avatar
Go to movie
As Meiko and his brothers are reunited. They find themselves in the Great Divide and are found by the desendents of those who fled first during the destruction of Gladamire's Empire. Are Meiko and Guya really the "Promised Arrivals"?

Lots of exiting things have happened in 2005. Aaron Haynes announced he was remaking the Vlarion series, Brad Ross returned to the community to continue his 3dmm work and now the idol of 3dmmers everywhere, Redwampa returns to the Bulletin Board and presents us with the movie we have all been waiting for 5 years. Nuts 1 and 2 are complete classics and are two of the greatest movies by Redwampa. But since they were both released in 2000 we have all been waiting for Nuts 3, and since Redwampa left after releasing Ghost In The Shell we thought we would never get what we all wanted from him. Now in the middle of 2005, 6 days before the film festival, the time we aint expecting any movies to be released, then suddenly, Redwampa comes out of nowhere and presents us with Nuts 3.
Bad news though, it's unfinished, and the film was only half done before it was released. It's dissapointing, yet exiting.

One thing from Redwampa that never fails is animation, although it is rather slow occaisionally it can still work. However there is one thing that hasn't changed since 2003 when Ghost In The Shell was released. Scenery. Nothing has changed really since we saw the Forest Attack clip which is included in this movie. Like the other Nuts movies, the main sources of scenery is mostly forest and tree tops but there is some new locations that were in the older films but new locations in the locations......
Obviously the best source of animation would have to be the forest attack, because the most effort was put into it, well obviously since it's all fighting and running around. Throughout the movie however, different expressions were used on the squirrels. aswell as the normal big eyed ones we are indeed used to, there is fear, anger, sadness and being tired. Expressions are hard to do in 3dmm but they were still done the old fashioned way, nothing different as I have said yet really nothing has changed since all HMCs gave the same ones and the obviously same way.

If you all remember the simple story from Nuts 1, the giants came to the forest and took their mother. Guya went after them and well you all should remember, unless you havent seen it then do and finish reading this then!
Then it evolved into a slightly bigger story making this more of a fantasy, squirrels at war with hunting dogs, it seemed pretty funny when we all saw it at first, but Redwampa gave it his magic touch making it not so funny, he gave the theme of those scenes the genre it was meant to be, drama. I'll get to the point though, Nuts 2 evolved the plot into a bigger story, and now Nuts 3 has evolved the big plot into an even bigger story taking that war we all remember from 2000 into something even bigger you wonder what else is in Redwampas imagination?
I found the voices rather dissapointing. Although they are the same as they were in Nuts 1 and 2 and Toilet Humor 1 and 2, they always made me feel that those chipmunk style voices gave the movie more of a comedy side, dispite that the beggining of Nuts 1 made you think it would be a comedy until the giants arrived. But dispite there was the occaisional giggle given to you throughout the series was fair enough but the voices just made it a little more comedic. Pretty unfair to say I know and obviously Redwampa couldn't really do much. But chipmunk voices is definatley better then normal.

Overall this is definatley a movie to remember, I only wished that Redwampa could have checked 3dmm Disscusion before releasing this. Then he could have entered this in the film fest, and that would have really been something, direct competition with Vlarion, Derelict, 5DMM and Mean Bread. Still this was a tremendously exiting movie, right up until it was unfinished. Which were the last scenes at the end aswell as the rest of movie but thats why the script was added so we could see what would happen. BUT!
The series doesn't end at Nuts 3!!
So the legendary series that will never end continues, and stops.
We thought Redwampas magic ended with Ghost In The Shell, we were all wrong. It ends here.
