bahaha - Chop Suey tries to be all "hardcore" in some parts but it fails. the guitar is really shit and the drumming fails to be complex. i like the acoustic sounding portions though. other than that, the song sucks

they have many songs that are much much better than chop suey. try listening to "aerials", "forest", "deer dance" "Ddevils", "suite-pee", or their covers of "metro" and "snowblind"

i thoroughly enjoy chop suey.
i would have to say that it is the best song realeased this year.

however, deer dance is a much better song.

Well Sapone I don't really give a shit if a song's got bad intrument techniques, it's the way it sounds as a whole

Chop Suey is not the best song on the albulm, it was released because it was very infectious, not too heavy and has some contemporary elements so that the pop lovers can grasp onto to the slow parts.

Practically a song to put them on the map
But yeah it's very very very old, I got the song within the first month, then a month later it became mainstream and now it's just getting caned

Yeah I mean, it is instrumentally unchallenging, but I really think the lyrics are awesome. Its just strangely drawing due to the blend of different styles

I dont give a shit about the drummer, the guitar tabs, whatever the fuck they are, just as long as it sounds good.

Anyone can do complex stuff, but it needs to sound good.

Yes chop suey is a good song, but they have alot of other better songs. i am a big fan of SOAD. Try thier 1st album, it was great too, but its differant than this new album, so, u might not like it....but if u like good music...ull like it, haha

Sepultura's "Desperate Cry" does the same thing (heavy parts and acoustic interludes) far better.
