Vlarion 1 - The Elemental War Trailer
Aaron Haynes's Avatar
Plot Summary:
Official trailer for the first movie in the Vlarion series remake, compiled by Jon Barton.

Huge thanks to Jon for doing this, it would have taken me forever to get something I'd be satisfied with.

Not gonna say much here (saving that for the release thread), as the trailer pretty well speaks for itself. We're oh so close.

Requirements
3D Movie Maker
Frankie's 3dmm Expansion Pack 1

That was awesome. I felt maybe it should have been more action-based, but then again, this worked fine.

VERY good job, I don't feel like I can possibly be hyped enough for this.

That was fantastic Aaron, absolutely fantastic. The music seemed kinda quirky but thats just me, maybe it wasn't loud enough. Awesome though, can't wait. I did see a couple of scenes that were animated in a way that wasn't so great, I wasn't expecting that Aaron.
[edit] Great work Jon, compiling this. And Aaron, are you SERIOUSLY sure that this'll make the 20th?

Uh. Sorry? Can you be a little less completely vague here? I don't have a clue what you're referring to, or in what context, or what you were expecting, so I'm not sure how you want me to respond.

Thanks a bunch for the comments, guys.

Ben, how are you in a position to be critical already? It's a TRAILER.

People are allowed to criticise trailers, but in Ben's case, yes, it's quite ridiculous.

Somethings looked a little out of place in a couple of scene thats all. It's fine though I just had to look at the scene properly and rewatch it a couple of times to understand them. Carry on...

Yes it's a trailer but they are also shots from the actual movie. Same way people gave both good comments and on flaws on animation when I released the TOATM trailer.

I think it's a sleeping bag, or a bag of supplies.

It's not a question of being critical, really, it's just that his criticism made zero sense. "IT WAS GREAT, BUT A FEW THINGS WERE NOT ENTIRELY QUITE AS GREAT, I WASN'T EXPECTING THAT, PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY."

Chippy: It's a bag, but the model I used has been changed in the full film since I sent that to Jon (last night actually). He's leaving the region he's been living in at the beginning of the film.

The only shot I had to re-watch was the quick shot of Zarethio shooting past underwater and then leaping up into the air (final shot, basically). The first time, it seemed to rush by all too quickly and I didn't quite get what had happened. Other than that, excellent.

And, oh, it's a bag.

That's a side-effect of the two Ceveron scene models appearing for the first time in that 9-frame scene. The lag of that happening makes it really jumpy. If I'd thought of it and had time to do it, I'd have simply used spider 2 and textures to show that shot so it would flow a little better.

I'm guessing you're talking about the city scenes. Aaron made that entire thing as a model so he sacrificed detail for the ability to move the camera the way he wanted.

Also I'm not supposed to tell you this but...

Aaron keeps me locked up in his closet and forces me to work on this movie non-stop. It's true!

Yes, thats what I meant. I didn't realise it was a model until I checked everything out though. But yeah Orcus explained what I was trying to say.
