Ninja Gaiden Preview

I've always liked this preview.. and I must've really thought it was sweet back in the day. But now it's lost a good bit of its luster, though that's probably because the animation looks so dated to me anymore.

The preview was made at a pretty late stage in Ninja Gaiden's development, so you get to see a pretty good deal of the action in this trailer. I tried not to show some of my favorite scenes, though at the very end, I decided to thrown one in (Scene 26) just to really seal the deal.

This preview probably has better editing than any of my movies, and it flows better than the majority of them, too. For a long while, I did actually prefer this to the movie itself (Though that was mostly just a stuck-up, "I'm too good for my own movies" phase). To be honest, though, I was very impressed at the attention this preview got. I really wasn't a top-tier director then, and there had been little to no hype about the movie or the preview before this (That I remember, at least). The preview thread became the most popular of its kind in both views and replies (I remember the number 26, but it might've hit the second page before long), and would stay that way for several years. That was definitely a confidence booster, most definitely!


It's kind of funny that this preview is full of videgame music from just about everything but Ninja Gaiden. Heh, most of those tracks wouldn't work for previews anyhow.



This preview was finished on November 19, 2002. It wasn't too heavily synched, and works well in XP

Actually not too bad, though the cringe-worthy over-dramatic video game music and world-crushing lines are a bit of a bummer. The Comic Sans saves it, though, right??
