Burger Johns
Space Goat's Avatar
Plot Summary:
After opening his own fast food restraunt, John gets robbed by a group of children carrying 2x4's, and is later visited by the city health inspector.

This is another movie directed by two good friends of mine, about a year after John Vs. The Blairs. I had even less to do with this one than I did on the other, but I'm going to keep myself listed as director simply so the movie is tied to me in the site's filter. My two friends who directed this don't have accounts here.

Being our most recent movie, this one has some of the best special effects - with quite a few hand-made scenes, and smoother animation. It's still pretty crummy by today's standards, but there are a lot of laughs to be found in here to make up for it.

To my surprise, this movie has never been liked very much by the community, which I have never really understood, because I still believe it is one of our best releases ever.

Enjoy.

This film deserved a rating to JUST make it considered a good film. The fact that this movie was made in 1999 gave it an excuse for being colored the green of good.

I take it you liked Space Balls and Aliens...you're on the right track.

The funniest thing about this film was the disgusting atmosphere of the restaurant. Dead rats falling from the ceiling? Deep fried babies? A playplace surrounded by an electrical fence? NICE TOUCH!!!

Here's some tips to help you design your comedies better:

1)TIMING-Make sure the flow of your movie is perfect. Don't have scenes last any longer than 10 seconds. Kid-Bongo jumping into the electrical fence was perfect, since you added him saying "Donuts." (INTERMISSION; make that last 2 seconds like Monty Python's Quest for the Grail)

2)SOUNDS-Never recycle sounds in a comedy. (When the burger men got shot, try to mix the sounds up a little. Give them the alien death scream from the movie, "Aliens" or something because that would be hilarious.)

In the end, it's a watchable comedy. I look forward to your next one.

Heh, okay, thanks.

One joke in here that I always missed was the "DO NOT TOUCH" sign on the electric fence, right before the Bongo character jumps into it while screaming "DONUTS!". DO NOT = DONUT. How I missed this time and time again, over all these years, is a real sad revelation I'm announcing to you all this afternoon.

Hahaha, that's actually pretty clever - I didn't realise that either.
