Don't put "re-release" that's ugly.

Changed, but only because it'll look mucky in the database.

Is there still going to be another Mean Bread movie? And wasn't Bill Clinton supposed to originally be in this or something? I just remember Russ posting a pic of Mean Bread shouting at Bill Clinton saying "Bill, your'e a douche." Or was that just for fun?

That's the feature-length, yeah - I'm hoping Russ is still in on it, because it looked like it was going to end up being awesome; just everything on my side is so busy I can't do anything about it. Also expect a sexy Christmas special this Christmas, Russ did some shit-hot work for the intro for this year but again, I'm a slow bastard and forgot to add anything.

For the meantime though, I'm hoping Russ can take a good swing at the next Dee Boned, because they're seriously the best short-actions ever. I'm doing a short entitled 'end.', but I think I'll leave it until it's released before talking too much about it.

I think this is my favorite 3DMM movie. I'd watch it again right now if it was on Vimeo or something with good quality.

Anything else in this cartoony style been done since? The style is why this is my favorite movie.

edit: oh... whoops. I've been leaving comments for old movies cause I thought nothing gets bumped in the Movies section.

as long as your posts aren't useless, there's no problem "bumping" topics

Check out RadioFlyer and Spaceman Carl and the Northern Brightness, both by Gorosaurus.

Re-released as part of the 3DMM Preservation Project. Vin Diesel is awesome.

Yeeesssss watching it right now. So pumped.

REVIEW EDIT:

Haha okay this was one of those movies the you remember being better than it actually is. It's still fun, maybe a little too long for the premise, but it's visual style is really what sells it.

I mean thing thing is basically one long setup for a punchline.

But it's good, and I still enjoy it.

Wow. Can't believe I missed this. That was great. I love it when people animate this way.

Even when it came out I felt like I missed the boat a little, cause everyone was SO excited about it. But I kind of understood why, it was the first of the 2D illustrated projects that made it out, and only a few months into v3dmm. Seeing a really funny moment that's also a visual surprise is such an exciting thing, and in 2005 there hadn't been anything quite like this for a lot of people. The closest was Steven Seagal in Stranger 4. We'd all seen flash animations before, but this was happening in our 3dmm window. It felt like Russ and Ferret - and we as a community, by extension - were getting away with something.

Which is not to say the movie's bad, it's still fun. It's visually interesting and creative enough to keep us grinning even while waiting through some plodding filler and a mostly aimless story. But Christopher Walken pooping in the ball pit justifies the entire thing as far as I'm concerned.

In my mind, this was the first time v3dmm had actually been used to create an entire look for a movie. I think that's what was so appealing about it to me the first time around. I'll agree with Ash that it doesn't hold up quite as well.

Humor wasn't as good as I remembered but I'll have to agree the style makes it very fun to watch. This is what v3dmm was made for.
