Check out this old interview with Tony Teulan!!

TONY TEULAN - 30 May 99 - (Formerly Retro Films) Full Moon Studios

> How long have you been into 3d movie making?

I have been playing with it since I was 13 making pretty good movies from about 14 years old. But I've only become serious about making REALLY good movies...

> How many movies have you made so far?

Quite a few but none of them are on my website. I lost everything in the Great Hard Disk Crash of 1998...

> What's the most popular/best movie you've made so far?

The best movie I ever made was 3X3Eyes, a 3DMM version of the Japanese anime series. I did Episode 1 only...

> How much time did you put into it?

6 months! I only did about half of Episode 1 and it took me all that time. Then I lost it all to a virus.

> How would you rate yourself in the 3dmm community, as a director?

Well, pretty well. I mean, guys like Domke are brilliant. I'm not quite up there. But with establishing Retro Films, I want to get to that level.

> How many other 3d movies have you seen?

Heaps. Some really crap ones and some really excellent ones. Most are pretty average. But there are some good ones out there.

> Favorite Movie?

Drugheads for sure. Close to a real movie as you can really get; camera angles, movement, excellent prop-made scenes, excellent soundtrack - great story. If all movies were this good, and a lot are on the same level, we would be better off.

> Favorite Director?

Robert Domke, of course. He made Drugheads!

> Favorite Site?

It's a close tie between McZee's Nuclear Bungalow and Mickazee's House.

> Worst/most overrated movie?

Hmm... I think Titanic. The animation was great and he made a lot of effort in building the ship and other scenes but so many people have gone to this effort and ALSO made a decent story.

> Worst/most overrated director?

I don't want to make enemies here. But I think some directors don't interact with the community enough and are arrogant (over-confident) of their 3d movie maker skills.

> Worst/most overrated site?

Probably Dimension X. It's never really updated and he puts down other movies when his movies hardly compare!

> What do you think of the quality of 3d movies lately?

Getting really good.

> How often do you update your site?

Well I will be updating it every week now. I've had some small delays in updating recently because I've had exams and lots of assignments. University life is so busy! But from now on at least every week. Depends if people want one BIG update weekly or lots of little daily updates... people should let me know by e-mailing me at tteulan@powerup.com.au with what they'd prefer... I'll cater to their choice.

> How long has it been up?

Since February 26, Richard, and grown considerably. I'd like to say to the 3dmm community that they can send me posters, trailers and their movies and I will post them on the page and review them. Also if people want to write 'Press Releases' or publicity for their upcoming movies or websites, send that to me too. Any other features for the site that people want should be suggested to me by email and I will look into it. I want to make Retro Films one of the best 3DMM websites.

Well, I saw some stuff about it on 3dmm.co.uk, then I asked Tony about it, but he wouldn't tell me, gave me some BS about 'schoolyard antics'. Please, fill me in.

and i was all "he talked to me on ICQ m8 !!"

and yeah.

the FMS thing was the most interesting thing ever!

LMAC's famous "fms read this" topic was probably the best topic ever made!

I don't even remember that much. Just bout how tony was stealing ideas from everyone, and how everybody was getting pissed off at him.

shit like that.
there was more to it, but I can't remember.

Maltby has the essay type thing that Mickazee wrote, you could ask him for it. Explains EVERYTHING.

My computer was down for about a month and I missed everything.

I remember some stuff from the FMS thing, with Tony stealing ideas and such...

I also think I remember him putting FMS at the beginning of every movie or something like that, saying it was "By Full Moon Studios."

That essay doesn't explain EVERYTHING because I think it was while it happened, not after the whole debacle ended. Goat should write a big story baout it.

I remember all that, that's when I was still running Pacmate Productions with Miles.

And trust Tony to dismiss the whole thing as 'schoolyard antics', when it was the biggest fucking revolution in 3dmm history!!

Tony is a wanker.

dude, ivan's totally right! Ok, i put that first reply in there so you can compare length of how tony responded to questions that didn't have to do with his site compared to questions that DID have to do with his site. Its ok though, he was just excited.

Yeah, that was awhile back. Retro Films... wow. Don't know if any of you remember it but it was done in 1950s-style and movies were sorted by category...

I didn't feel like talking about it much with Peter on that night, generally though, I'm pretty much over it as is most people here... rather than leave in disgrace I stayed on and worked on having some original stuff instead of copying ideas.

Everyone makes mistakes in their life, no one can turn back the clock so what can I say? I made a mistake, I do admit that but I've moved on since.
