Our World: Christmas Edition
Compcat's Avatar
Plot Summary:
Two young men go on a wacky christmas adventure. If you enjoy random silliness and/or enjoyed the original Our World than you will probably get a kick out of this. Or if you love Christmas and haven't seen this and would like to see SOME 3dmm Christmas movie to help get in the spirit than this is for you.

I came back to this movie, finished it and polished it up for several reasons.

Firstly because I spent a long time on it last year and even for an unfinished movie I think it didn't get quite enough attention.
Secondly because I would like this movie to actually be recognized as a movie and not just an unfinished collection of animations.
Thirdly because I want to release a movie that does proper justification to what skill I have in 3dmm, my past releases did not, by their own various reasons.

So thats about it...

About the ReBumpage: Ok, it's Christmas now, I may have made this years ago, but I still feel that it is up to modern standards and finally hope it gets some amount of recognization. Yes, the sound quality for the voices is somewhat bad, its not even worth mentioning now because I've said it. But still, guys c'mon, I never got any real comments for this...

Yeah, bad sound quality, I'll admit. Something about either my mic or computer doesn't work well, because even with the mic practically in my mouth I still had to raise the volume drastically.

Yeah, I thought that too, but I am working on another movie at the moment which might be out before then and at that point any real comments on this would be somewhat silly. Also I just wanted to get all of these re-released at the same time.

The fact that nobody ever made a real comment on this movie was like the biggest letdown of my 3dmm career.

Yeah, I do, and I was pissed that not one person gave a shit. I feel like this is the reason why I never got too much into 3dmming.

I DUNNO HOW I MISSED THIS. But I watched it now

It was a little slow (like, the pot thrown at santa took way too long to actually hit santa) but them hanging up santa was pretty funny. I kinda wanted to see the bird get revenge. I felt bad about smokey . Was that poop in the hot chocolate? That was really weird. I've never seen hot chocolate that's just poop in a microwave. Kinda weirded me out. Also, your use of "grainy" textures with the solid colour tree/presents/table is kinda jarring to look at. I wouldn't have minded as much if there was a reason for the different look in the same scene. Like... if the solid coloured objects were important to the scene, it would have looked better (kinda like in cartoons where the object that is used in the scene is a different colour because it's easier to animate/makes people focus on the important part of the scene)... I dunno if that made any sense, so here's a video.

See how the background scenery is kinda all "grainy" while Bugs/Best/door/hair stuff/etc. is all solid colours?

Yeah. I'll give this 69%. or 3 fish.

Thanks, Tuna . Yeah, I would definitely do things differently now. Back then it was basically me just experimenting and having fun with every new v3dmm thing that I could get my hands on, without much thought of how to make it fit in with the rest of the film. Although, I did do what you're describing in one place, the part with the birds getting crushed by the tree.
And with the hot chocolate thing, I was basically just doing whatever I thought would be the funnest/funniest to animate at the time, and in that case it was making the hot chocolate function like shit.

Because when you're a lazy animator, your baby birds look a lot like eggs.

I saw the original and thought it was not particularly great, so I never bothered to watch this, figuring it'd just be a minor tune-up. Maybe that was unfair. I might watch this at some point.

Yeah, it's a completely different movie. At fourteen I didn't really understand the implications of using "edition" opposed to "special." That might've been what killed it.
