OK I am trying to get into this modelling thing, looking for downloads...

OK I am just curious as to what programs I need to get to make my own models, or export the ones already in 3dmm and change them. Anyway I looked through both sections in utilities and found nothing. I have heard alot of different programs are out there, just wondering what they do and where to download.

like:

7gen
3dmm Pencil
Milkshape

and what ever else I need to change actors costumes, add models, add textures, and make models.

thanks guys.

Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro for editing textures as you see fit. Milkshape, Maya, or 3DsMax for model editing, Pencil++, and 7gen.

If you want to make models, find something that exports to OBJ or MD2, then use 7gen.

If you want to edit models, you need to actorextract a model (using 7gen), then export a BMDL (using pencil), then convert it to an OBJ (using bmdl2obj)

You edit it, then save back to obj, convert to BMDL with obj2bmdl, then re-add with pencil

7gen: http://v3dmm.com/downloads/7gen03c.zip
obj2bmdl/bmdl2obj: http://v3dmm.com/downloads/objtools.zip
pencil: http://v3dmm.com/node.php?node=110

I could use Macromedia Fireworks for textures, right? I don't have photoshop or PSP, so meh.

* pushes Kyle Magocs out of the way and down a flight of stairs in the process *

Don't listen to him, get a real image editor.
