3dmm.co.uk LIVES

Hello... is this thing on...?
Back on the 12th of June 2003 Will Maltby sent me the complete archive of 3dmm.co.uk.

He said:
Quote:
This is the complete html for 3dmm.co.uk at closing. This is the normal (non-Christmas) skin with the archives fully updated to incorporate the latest Christmas update.

All the material contained within this package are copyright of Will Maltby 2003.

Please use the html and jpegs in their original form only unless you have my explicit permission to do otherwise, thanks. Please also credit me if you decide to use any of this material online.

I only mention this because, though small in size that this package may be, it summises the input of 4 years worth of (mostly) continual site updating which, to me, is kinda priceless. I'd hate to have done all this work only to then have some muppet nick it and pass it off as their own to boost their own site or whatever. If the world suddenly went to war, plagiarists would be out-ranked by slugs and belly button fluff.

Thanks to the entire 3dmm community and all those who contributed to it and the site over the years. It was great while it lasted, and I hope it continues to remain around in some form or another in the future.

It's sat on a hard drive for nearly 20 years.

Today I saw that the 3dmm.co.uk domain was available so decided to turn it into a 3dmm shrine. A snap shot of 3dmm at the turn of the millennium and the child of one of the all-time greats.

Take a trip down memory lane with me...

www.3dmm.co.uk

EDIT: Movie download links restored (well most of them, the Tazzy and 3dmmfiles backups aren't totally complete).

This is really cool.
Many of the archive.org archives are incomplete/still using lots of dead flash content. Seeing it in its' original form is very surreal.

Could you please go into whatever domain provider you use and enable HTTPS to be optional? I wanna view this on older browsers and stuff for the kick of it but the security certificate stops me from being able to.

Such a shame that anything Flash is just totally inaccessible nowadays.
SSL now not forced so you should be able to view it on your period correct machines 🥳

I have every version (including some unreleased) and theme of the site too. Halloween is still my favourite.

The site viewed how it was meant to be, per the specifications of Will Maltby (1024x768, Internet Explorer 5)

Wow, I never realized 3dmm.co.uk was that beautifully designed. The nav bar everything is so alive and well animated. All of the thumbnails are categorized with images for what system it's for. You did a great job preserving this!

Even if the movie download host is down now, there's always https://3dmmfiles.com/archive/3DMM_CO_UK.7z to help.

Sweet! It's pretty cool clicking around the site and seeing all that old school stuff. You also get a pretty strong sense of Maltby's personality. I love that his list of the top ten movies of all time had two of his own in the top six haha. The list of the nominees/winners for the 2000 awards show was entertaining too. DD sweeping the awards including "Most Overrated Movie" at the end made me chuckle.

Thanks for posting this, Will! And also thanks for continuing to keep 3dmmstudio up for all these years!

...Holy shit, this is completely awesome of you... Mr. Cheyeny!

I though Will Maltby came back from the internet grave, but it turns out
it was archived by the creator of 3DMM Studio, Will Cheyney!

Thank you Will Cheyney, this is my earliest Christmas Present of them all.
(rather then just going on a archived version on TheOldNet.com/Wayback Machine)

This is so cool! The first 3dmm site I ever saw in mid-2003 just as I remember it. Thank you, Will.

Uh, tazzy.ca is just an extracted zip of the 3dmmfiles link I posted earlier.

On the topic of 3dmm.co.uk, seeing how robust the design is (seriously, this site works flawlessly on literally every single web browser I've tested it on) has inspired me to redesign my own page, http://3dmm.ca

That’s awesome, I remember coming across this site back in 2003 but with Christmas theme when I was at school, even though it was few months late after Christmas period of 2002, even I didn’t have an internet back at home then.
