Winter
Plot Summary:
A grieving husband searches for his wife's murderer.

This project started as an attempt to encapsulate the feeling of standing on an El Train platform in Chicago during winter and evolved into a tale of revenge and how hate can leave you a shadow of yourself. I tried really hard to recreate an accurate depiction of Chicago in 3dmm. It's most definitely as accurate as I could make it. Over a year of work, and with help from friends, I'm finally able to release the finished version.

Personally, I think it's the best work I've ever done and I'm really proud of the final product. Hope you all enjoy.

Thanks to Plop for the youtube upload.

I cannot believe it, this movie rocks, its a masterpiece, oscar worthy film, and so well made, there should be a petition to put this on Netflix.

OH FUCK

Just watched: HOLY FUCK THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING

The characters motivations felt fleshed out, the problem is complex, and everything is so well paced. Fantastic job, this is one of my favorite 3dmm movies of all time. I was entertained throughout the entire runtime. That ending was fucking great.

An impressive, melancholic and stellar piece, done in such an old program. Dustin, i don't know how you've got that amount of motivation, since you're pretty old now, but this movie is an example of a cinematic experience done well here. Every single shot is filled to the brim with detail and life, and with any rough scene featured, the dialogue makes up for it.
I really couldn't say anything more other than this, but this as well may be one of your best cinematic attempt at a 3dmm movie, and everything is simply brilliant. Stellar work, Dustin.

Thank you, Onattien. Honestly, it’s one of those things where I would love to do something bigger and modern with a wider appeal, but I just don’t know how to work with any other animation programs, and definitely don’t have the budget to do live action. I get these ideas in my head that I really want to see made into something, and this is the only visual medium I have the skill to work with.

As is, I’m really happy with how it turned out, even with how janky 3dmm animation tends to be.

super good movie!!!!! really excellent framing, pacing, and voice acting, and the mod work is simply stupendous. writing-wise it’s nothing to write home about but far from bad and it still gets the appropriate emotions across very well. seriously impressive stuff and definitely one of the best things I’ve ever seen in this program, butts up against the limitations of 3dmm without it ever affecting the impact. congratulations!

very mild criticism is that the serious scene with the dad was slightly distracting with the cat clock and lord of the rings calendar in the background

FALSE.

This movie was very well made. The mods were really well used; I was worried that it would just be a marathon of generic cityscape models, but you did an excellent job of giving range to the environments. That triangular building was particularly memorable.

I'll have to watch it again before cementing my opinion, but at this point I would say that I didn't really care for the story. It felt kind of predictable (especially the ending). But like I said, I'll need to rewatch it before I make up my mind.

Overall, awesome job!

Also all the Cubs stuff made me angry.

No, but for real you did a good job of making it look like Chicago. I was there last month, and yeah, that's really what it looks like.

Wasn't Dustin Guest a 3dmmer in the early 2000s? Did he come back in the v3dmm era? Am I confusing him?

Is that a dealbreaker?
