Description:
Who is Italo Nolli?
Italo Jorge Nolli Olivan (Santiago, May 27, 1942 – Santiago, March 23, 2011) was a Chilean businessman and mobster of Italian descent, active in arms trafficking and the sale of stolen copper cables. His experience as a mercenary in the Vietnam War sparked a fascination with firearms, which would play a decisive role in his tragic 'day of fury' in March 2011. On the fateful day of March 23, 2011, feeling cornered by two detectives from the Chilean Investigative Police (PDI), he reacted lethally, shooting them both, resulting in their immediate deaths. After the confrontation, Nolli fled to his residence to stock up on weapons, after which he embarked on a frantic run through the capital, Santiago, shooting at several police officers before being killed by a police bullet. Due to his actions and his reckless attitude, Nolli earned several posthumous nicknames, the most famous of which were the 'Chilean Rambo' and the 'King of Scrap Metal. |
