In a sea of terrible releases this year had to offer, this was the only standout and it’s one of the best movies we’ve gotten in awhile. It’s not some humongous movie that took years to make, nor is it a short joke movie he spent a week on. It’s a very solid 23 minute long movie with a story and characters. It’s using vanilla 3dmm and I believe every 3dmmer should give vanilla 3dmm a shot, it’ll make you a better animator and a more creative director.
The movie stars Bown playing Oden and Old Rivers playing Owen the main characters, they’re best of the cast. The cast also consists of Plopilpy, Dooglord and Pokerman who make up the supporting cast. The main characters voices are great but the supporting cast can be lacking at times. I feel Dooglord puts on the weakest performance with him just doing his normal voice. The animation and scenery is nothing amazing but it doesn’t need to be. There’s a lot of solid camera movement and tricks. there’s a lot going on in the movie, many different settings in the movie from the desert to the sprawling city, which helps keep the movie going and makes it feel like a grand journey for the Texans. There’s a lot of really solid lighting effects in the movie as well. There’s a lot of action in the movie but there’s also far more than just action. The story is fairly basic, but it’s an engaging story that keeps you interested till the end. It’s far better than just another PAM, it feels very refreshing to see something original. It reminds me of a lot of classic early 2000s 3dmm movies, and I really hope we see more movies like it return. In conclusion, this movie isn’t some huge Vlarion type movie nor is it a joke movie like Plop Town. It’s a really solid medium scale movie with a lot going for it, I would recommend everybody to watch it and take notes for your own future movies. You see a lot of the current directors try to make a magnum opus and it leads to huge projects that never see the light of day, they end up burning out the director behind the movie and you see nothing from them. This movie shows that by limiting yourself, it’ll lead to far more creative and overall better quality movie that you can actually finish and feel proud about. Great job Pokerman on such a good movie and I can’t wait to see the sequel! 84/100 |

Excellent
“It’s not amazing, but a movie current 3dmm directors desperately needs to take note of.”
