Just watched it. Those 15 minutes sure flew by very fast. Kudos to everyone involved with making this movie.

I have nothing to add to the intro that hasn't already been said. I like everyone else enjoyed it very much.

This year, I agreed with the best picture winner. I was happy for Dominator Dan's victory last year, but when I finally got around to seeing Devils & Angels, I thought Jim Mcgraff beating that one was a robbery of epic proportions. However, I think Handsome Man was clearly the best movie of not only this year, but perhaps of the past few years.

My heart ached for Slade, but it's cool to see he got a best scenery award. Atleast it's not Ghost in the Shell all over again. I hope LOS hasn't exhausted Slade, and I'd really love to see more from him. I'm sure with his improved skills, he'll be able to take best movie with ease in the future. I wish LOS could have gotten some sort of award for its final battle scene which was one of the coolest fucking fight scenes ever made.

Uhhh, what else?

While it pains me to see Dustin Guest constantly get snubbed for best voice actor, I do think Dominator Dan deserved it. Not for voicing every character in Handsome Man...I think he deserved it for voicing the Michael Sandford character. It was definitely one of the funniest performances and he made Sandford one of the most memorable 3dmm villains.

I'd like to cyber hug the one person who voted for me, though I'm sure it was a joke vote, thanks! I can confirm it wasn't me, as my joke vote went to Royston.

I knew Rman's Christmas movie had no chance of winning, but still... :'(
I thought it was very funny! Like, Santa spitting in the kid's cut saying, "Now you have AIDS!"...or the final punch line of that movie...way funnier than anything the other Christmas movies had to offer.

Omnus, last place for best trailer? Come on people! *Slaps all of you*

I haven't seen BIG MOVIE, but holy shit did it take a gargantuan sized dump on all its competition.

I liked Mczee: The Man behind the movies, but like Bown I was disappointed it got more votes than LOS for best movie.

Uhh yeah. That's all I can remember for now.

There's a slim chance I'd join in if any interesting little community movies prop up again like before (doubtful), but as for solo projects and anything else: definitely not. Sorry. 3dmm's in a bad enough state as it is, I'm lucky I plucked up the energy and commitment to finish LoS when I did (film fest). Any later and it would've barely been noticed at all.

haha everyone's making out like there will BE an awards in 2009, is there really much point? i mean maybe just have one and not make a movie about it.. there was the skeleton invasion chain movie, ten, magic 2.. some other movies...and yeah MINE AND PAT'S chain movie, clearly the highlight, hahaha imagine that winning best movie

edit: unless we have some BIG christmas bonanza of movies

You wanna help me finish YOUKNOWWHAT so it actually CAN be released for christmas? Seeing as you're voicing one of the main roles in it anyway it would help if you helped direct and stuff. I have a strong feeling what your answer is but give it some thought? Who knows, if it won best movie for next year you'll be bagging the award aswell

And hell with it, I might release my other current project so far and hopefully bag best series too, hopefully I'll have finished the next two episodes before 2010 begins.

Wow, I really have very little impact on this community It saddens me since I've silently got to know you all over the past 4 years.

edit: also, am I correct in thinking that 3dmm won't work on a mac?

I too felt absolutely gutted for Slade not getting more recognition for LoS. I think the PAM movies, when done as well as HMiA was, simply appeal to a bigger audience.

That said, I really do feel that all four movies nominated for best movie are among the best of all time.

In my opinion, HMiA is the best PAM ever made. Absolutely brilliant animation, hilarious dialogue, and tons and tons of eye-candy. This movie never stops delivering the goods from start to finish.

McZee is definitely the best documentary ever made, and one of the most creatively silly things this community has ever come up with.

LoS is perhaps the most epic movie ever made, with Vlarion being the only arguable challenger. The scope of this movie boggles my mind. This movie has just as much eye candy as HMiA, but it was overlooked because it is interrupted with longer and more frequent fixed camera angle and dialogue scenes. Nevertheless, as I discovered again while putting the montage together, some of the most jaw-dropping animation sequences ever made can be found here.

Finally, Immunity is my favorite "3DMM community themed" movie ever, filled with endless hilarity and a brilliant plot.

In my eyes, all these movies deserve more recognition, so one of my goals in the upcoming year is to make a "hall of fame" section on 3dmm.com. The purpose being to further highlight the community's best movies, whether we gave them awards or not. Movies posted in this section will have vimeo streams alongside high quality h264 encoded downloads (like this awards movie was), with proper playback rates (once I work out the kinks with that) and synced audio.

I don't think that's true. You have been nominated for Best Director more than anyone. Just because you haven't won doesn't mean you haven't had any impact. It's a big deal just to be nominated. You are the most consistent and reliable director, in my eyes. Almost all of your movies deserve to be in the "hall of fame" I just mentioned in my earlier post.

Also, you can run 3DMM on a Mac pretty easily, just use a Windows emulator like Wine.

I'm regretting not voting for LoS in more of the visual categories. It really is stunning. I just didn't think Dan would sweep this thing like he did.

Yeah. Like, remember DD winning over Nuts and Bodily Functions?

Agreed, though I think I would add Ghost in the Shell to that list.

Entertaining and to-the-point. Great work.

I felt Slade and Footman should have walked away with a bit more, though Dan clearly earned what he got.
