The top bar used to work because it was flash. Now, it's an HTML5 canvas, so it doesn't work on older browsers.

Haha, I guess I could always add the Flash nav as a fallback. How perverse would that be 😂

Okay I raced here to post about this.

I was dinging around on the site, looking for inspiration for stuff, and then the logo at the top left played an animation which changed the "3dmm.co.uk" into "ENTER THE UNDERGROUND" in blue glowing text.

I tried clicking on it as hard as I could, but nothing happened and it rotated back into the logo again.

I'm not kidding. I poked around in the HTML5 canvas JS file and tried to see if there was anything about "underground" or any interesting HTML file names, but nothing special came up (aside from the index page for the Halloween theme).

I knew it!!!

FFDec lists this in the sprites when viewing the 2002_menu.swf file:

I'll keep poking around to see if there's a link to the underground.

EDIT: Aw hell

The underground was Maltby's secret page where he would share his own secret projects.

You're maybe thinking of McZee Ate My Trousers or the Ezboard on 3dmm.com.

The 3dmm.co.uk Underground was a "secret" section of the site Maltby used to host a bunch of unreleased movies he made (all the movies from that underground site are now in the main archives).
The link to it flashes up in the nav every so often. It was a Flash microsite so not so easily viewable these days.
If you check out the site info page on the site you can read about it.

Well, I sorta already knew about the site info section and the fact that it was a secret movies page. The flash part is sadly too obvious, as the page doesn't even load due to the flash file being missing

If you have a flash player emulator or old machine, you can see these pages here:

Underground: http://www.3dmm.co.uk/uground.swf
DD page: http://www.3dmm.co.uk/ddpage/ddpage2.swf

Cool! That's way more interesting than the UBB!

Thanks for the dive, Will!

Haha I forgot Maltby took the time to label each movie as suited for Windows 98 (6 fps) or XP (6.6 fps)... He must've been the only one who cared because updating your OS ruined the synchronicity of Diabolical Delightment which he spent an eon animating

WOW, I totally missed this until now.
Great job, Will! Really impressed with this. Not only have you kept the old movies up for decades on your site but you’ve managed to resurrect THE 3dmm site with this with its original design and URL, and even all of the movies! That’s quite a feat.

Great job mate, I salute you and Maltby for this.

3dmm.co.uk
Good to see they are active again after decades of supposed inactivity.

Just made a couple of films, one based on a music video, the other one I made myself.

I edited my post.

I usually default to 3dmmstudio.co.uk for utilities and movies.
