Ok, here's my review:

A Call to Arms - Directed by Andres De La Hoz

When I heard Andres had released it, I got really excited, because I was really looking forward to it. I downloaded it asap, and opened in 3dmm and pressed play. Oh, this was going to be fun, I thought. But I was dissapointed. It' starts of veeery confusing, I wasnt sure on what was going on. The movie is set in world war 1, in a little (empty) village. A french assasin is sent to snipe the german general himself. Quite interesting, but its done in a bad way. If he spent more time on the script, I think it would be superb! The animation is sweet, the shaking cameras, camera-movements is awesome. But some of the blood-effects was crap. The scenery is awesome too, he obviously spent alot of work on them. Lack of sound-effects some places, but the sounds there is, fits very well to the action. A good soundtrack, music taken from The Gladiator. The voice-acting was heaps good, but I didnt get all of it, wich lets the movie down abit. A great cast though.

Overall, a good war-movie u definetely dont wanna miss. lack of sound fx some places, some of the voices were fuzzy, and the script could need more work, but else than that, very good!

7.5 popcorns

That was an incrediably good movie. i liked the fighting scenes but it also made you care for the characters in a short amount of time. that was one thing that i really liked about the movie. the music fit the scenes really well. the one let down of this movie was that some of the lines were hard to hear over the sound f/x. Also, as fredrick pointed out, the blood animation was bad. it really changed throughout the movie and was better at the end, though. overall i would have to give it a:
8.5 out of 10 stars

that was a very well balanced movie, through story line and action.

The action was well placed and was very effective.

Overall i would say this movie is 8/10

Wow.

I thought this movie was awesome in every element. It had great voices, great scenes, great plot, and great music. In short, I think everything fit together perfectly.

I'd like to add that I use Windows XP and it ran perfectly fine.

Great movie, Andres. Keep em coming.

My review:

Andres makes a fine movie here in the theme of WWI, which is a change from the usual world war 2 flics. There were a few dramtic parts which actually worked towards me.

*like the man and the letter, he just threw it in the flames*

the ending was good, with the medics coming to save the wounded. Also the end fight where it seems that the assasin and general are secluded from the bloodbath thats going on just down the street. This made me think that this is a very important part. (Good use of Coreography there) the camera movements were excellent, they didn't seem just slapped together. and the action and animation was smooth, fast and slick.
The voice cast contained the cream of the crop of the BB, which was great. All the best voice actors together in one good plotted movie.

One bad thing though, Spaz's voice seemed strange. All i could imagine was Prof Spaz in the war. Which made me laugh, ruining the film a lil bit.

Thanks Andres for another film to add to the 'greats' collection.

P.S. This film made me want to finish RB. So THANKS AGAIN!

That movie didn't feel right to me. I still don't like the way andrez animates talking scenes with no voices, then adds them later. Alot of the voices overlaped for me so I missed a few words. That kinda fucked up the movie.

I couldn't give this movie more than 6/10

The movie was absolutely brilliant, some of the scenes were the best i've ever seen in a 3d movie. I loved the final battle scene, really drawn out. I dont know why, but remember the shot that was fairly distant from the general and the sniper when they were dueling, the sniper was on the right and the general was on the left? I loved that shot for some reason! i kept looking at it over and over. DID YA HAVE TO STEAL A SOUND OUT OF MY UNRELEASED MOVIE AND NOT GIVE ME ANY THANKS, ANDRES???

Plot - 7/10
Sound - 9/10 (ALTHOUGH IT SHOULD BE A 3 FOR STEALING MY SOUND!!!)
Scenes - 10/10
Lasting Appeal - 7/10
Overall - 8/10

I liked the movie because it was not based on World War 2 and the plot just going to d-day and killing people. Anywho, I thought the music tied in with the actions and moments of the movie, especially in the house with that little soldier, that was great! The scenes also took a huge part in making this movie fun to watch, because in battle, the scenes had the camera movement moving up and down and shit, not to mention the scenes it self. Having them move with such great detail. The movie had it flaws like when the voices changed for characters, that was just wierd.

All out a good movie.

Ratings:

Plot: 7.5/10
Music: 8/10
Sound: 8/10
Animation: 9/10

Overall: 8.5/10

Panda Man's Review

A Call To Arms
directed by: Andres de la hoz

Seeing as this is my second official Panda Man review, I shall make this as fair as possible. This movie was another one of Andres' masterpieces. It depicts a French Assassing during the first World War, and the way he devised it is simply beautiful.

The Animation with the scenery wasn't quite breath-taking, it at least looks like he spent more than 5 minutes on a single scene. Although the blood animation, as most have observed, is sort of iffy, but one must ask, who cares?

The plot, as mentioned above is put together quite well, it looks planned out, and structured. Which that gives the movie a sense of flow. That flow helps the watchers feel more comfortable and lets you know the director actually knew what he was doing.

The sound is pretty good. The songs he chose were splendid for the moment. The microphone feedback was present in some of the lines, but it was almost too little to notice.

clocked time: approx. 20 min

Animation: 4.5/5
Music: 5/5
Plot: 5/5
Sound: 5/5

All around: 19.5/20 - %92.8

a recommended download

the movie is excelent, a nice war movie (though I haven't saw it complete, due to exams)

but an error that I saw in the movie is this:

in the part that the germans attack in a city, they're in line or scalonated formation, my point is: after the middle ages (or something), those were stopped being used

well, at least they're on formation until they find an nme group, but the germans found american groups and they remained in formation, even on almost 4 meters near
