Coil Font
Aaron Haynes's Avatar
Description:
A variety of coil/helix/spiral shapes, ranging from basic helixes to more complex, revolved curve shapes.

This evolved entirely out of me noticing that the version of Maya on the G5s at UNC Asheville had been updated and now included helix shapes, which my copy of Maya did not. Highly specialized, but good for energy effects and cigarette smoke.

Some of these models are novelties and probably have no practical use in a movie. Additionally, a few of the larger spirals are glitched and don't work with gradients, due to the inconsistences in interpreting two-sided polygons between Maya and 3dmm, which I didn't realize at the time.

Nice! Is there a way to make a 3D Font, that is not one with different shapes and stuff, A Font with real text, Like, you have the font Arial, and want it a 3D Font, is there a way?

Nice font by the way

Nope, you'd have to create the actual letter models. I'm sure a program could be worked up to 3D-ize different fonts in obj (or bmdl) format, but I'm not aware of one. You'd still have to import them one by one in 3DMM Pencil.
