OK.
A DVD can hold from 4.7 GB (4700 MB) to 17 GB (17,000 MB).
There are the following options with a DVD disk:

• Single sided, one layer giving 4.7 GB capacity (DVD-5)
• Single sided, double layer giving 8.5 GB capacity (DVD-9)
• Double sided, one layer each side 9.4 GB capacity (DVD-10)
• Double sided, double layer giving 17GB capacity (DVD-18)

So, you can have a double layered DVD (bigger capacity), and the disk will not need turning, OR, you can have a double sided disk with a huge capacity, and you will need to turn it over.

For a Gamecube DVD, that is single sided, one layer - 1.5GB, yes.

And to make pirating copies of Gamecube games even harder, the Gamecube starts reading its disks from the outside and works its way towards the center.
Normally, the laser-head reads from the center outwards. Another master-stroke by Nintendo.

Of course, it is inevitable that someone's going to find a way.
But its going to be a hell of a lot harder. You will need to modify the way a CD-Burner works - not an easy task, I bet.

5.00$ isn't enough to make Nintendo last.

The reason Nintendo doesn't want us to burn games is because they need money. And we give them money in trade for good games.

The thing about the PS2 is when you burn, you only have to get like what, five bucks to rent the game and then burn it and return it? How's that going to ensure that Sony will last for a long time? I bet a lot of Dreamcast games were burned, because Sega went down bad. Final Fantasy IX isn't even a greatest hit yet, because it's mostly been burned.

So in short=Sony might disappear if this burning stuff keeps going on.

lol

You get a burner (200 bucks)
You get hire a few sony games (pSX or PS2) and burn them (20 bucks for like 5 game)

you burn them for your mates at 10 bucks a cd. you make alot of money (I made 400 dollars off my burner copying games for my uncle doing that - paid for Dark Reign 2 and my cd card )

Piracy is the wave of the future - people don't pay for things anymore, they download them or burn them.
I just find it funny that Sony expect people to buy their shitty games that are released at like 5 games a week or some bullshit.
Thats why I dislike sony - second largest list of games (gameboy has 700 compaired to the 500 of the sony)
and there are only like 5 good ones, while almost every n64 was good (there are a few exceptions, bomber man hero for example...)

I say if the game is worth it - buy it. If it sucks - burn it.
I downloaded BLACK AND WHITE but I loved it so much and it was worth my money I bought it anyway.

Its the quality of games (Nintendo), not quantity (Sony PS).
The classic arguement a PS owner uses when you ask them why the PS is better is, "It has more games."

Yes, it may well do - but how many do you own? And how many titles are classics?

I like Playstation 2. But I don't want to get one because I believe Gamecube is a better console. But I still like Playstation 2...........but X-BOX is just a Huge machine with a disgraceful looking controller.

And it's silly that u all think everyone else is getting upset and is going to change their mind on what console to get just cos you highlight the BAD points of the machine they have.

I soooooooooooooo agree!
