Which ones have you seen? The last one I saw was Bob Saget's roast, and I thought it was really funny; highlights being the speech by Norm Macdonald and Cloris Leachman.

All of the Comedy Central roasts are awful. They're not even real roasts, just the most obvious, meanest jabs at whoever is being "roasted". The jokes aren't even witty. Plus they pick the stupidest people to be roasted. Bob Saget? Hugh Heffner? Pamela Anderson? FLAVA FLAV?!

I think they pick people who they know will be easy to make fun of, but I see what you mean.

Also about the very mean spirited jabs, I agree. Not only that, but the insults do get repetitive as well. For example, every single person in Bob Saget's roast had some variation of "Cloris Leachman is so old", and just about everyone cracked pedophile jokes about Bob Saget. Despite those flaws though, I still think every roast will have atleast 2 or 3 people who are very funny and clearly better than the rest, and I always enjoy the speech given at the end by whoever's been roasted.

Despite those flaws though, I do like the format comedy central uses.
